Giles dropped because of health concerns a few years ago and Michael Porter dropped in the last draft.

Is Jontay going to drop to the second round or will a team gamble and take him with a late first?

Will he even declare? If he does, I'd hope the Lakers draft him barring anything odd with his recovery.

I think weight control during his recovery may be a major issue for him.

Mizzou’s Jontay Porter tears ACL, MCL at secret Sunday scrimmage. He’s out for the year

A nice writeup that mentions the Porter sisters having injury issues as well.

If he really balloons up that would be "anything odd with his recovery." If he comes in pudgy, but not fat fat, I'd hope the Lakers would seriously look at him.

Because thicc boys are the new market inefficiency. I've been beating this rotund drum since last year.

Wasserman's college preseason top-50, including freshmen: link.

Bold choices having Naz Reid and PJ Washington as lotto picks. I like it! Wasserman has been raving about UK's Washington and Tyler Herro since observing the Wildcat's scrimmage.

Nein. Not unless the Haavara Agreement gets passed. How's Zion's shooting? Any good with the 98k?

Jontay's game isn't as reliant as Giles or MPJ in terms of athleticism.

I may be proven wrong (it has happened many times with prospects), but I have doubts Bol Bol is even a legit NBA starter. Guy really gets pushed around. I do not think he is near the level of an Ayton or Bamba.

He might have the weight of a Center but isn’t he like 6’6 with a 6’7 wingspan or something?

To be honest, I have no idea how Bol Bol plays, I literally just looked at the mock draft and saw the best Center available.

Ugh, 2018 draft was a very Center oriented draft.

Bol Bol is more skilled offensively than either of those guys, but rebounding and defense outside of rim protection looks like a big concern. If he shows any motor, a team has to take him in the #5-10 range with his Porzingis-ish upside.

maybe I need to watch some more video because from what I saw....which was at least 6-12 months ago, I would not have considered him more offensively skilled than Ayton, or a better overall player than Bamba.

Yeah, unfortunate. Maybe Bassey looks good enough.

I've seen 6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan. But he's 280 lbs and does stuff like the following to weak layups: https://twitter.com/FrankieVision/status/1054876035353923584

We have plenty of guys who can get cool looking blocks. Our center issue goes deeper then that

This is from about a year ago - Bol Bol v. Bassey:

Well, Zion could address 90% of them. And having Lebron's replacement ready to go would be kind of cool.
