Yesterday on the radio, Trudell casually said Garland in reference to something about who the Lakers would draft... and then subtly corrected himself...
I forget what he said exactly but he said something like
"Garland... err... whoever the Lakers pick."
Maybe I'm reading too much into it... but it was like he knew the answer and slipped... then tried to save it because he wasn't supposed to say it. |

Maybe the Lakers are drafting him for another team in some agreed trade framework. Or drafting him because both LA and NO like him and he can either be traded or retained, depending on how negotiations go. |

Or drafting him because he's a Klutch client.
I like Garland, and would love to have him on our team... however, I'm torn because again... I don't like the fact that Klutch has so much power.
Not even working guys out?
So yeah, maybe it's nothing like you just said... they know the Pelicans want him so they are going that route.
However, if they are picking him without looking at more players because Klutch told them to do it... that wouldn't be good. |

If we draft a player for ourselves, my assumption is it will be the Klutch client. Rich Paul (which means Lebron James) wants his star and potential star clients in the biggest markets, especially the 2 largest coastal cities. |

FWIW
Suns writer for AZCentral:
Quote: | League sources told me #Suns are eyeing forwards De'Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver, Cam Reddish.
Of 3, Hunter is considered the one to go 1st.
Zion, Ja, RJ 1-2-3. If Suns think Cavs may draft Hunter at 5, they may have #Lakers draft Hunter, they take Darius Garland and trade. |
Don’t know if it’ll happen but it would be ideal IMO. |

^Of course in that scenario a PG hungry team like the Bulls could then trade up to 5 for Garland..don't outsmart yourself. Of course the Suns are PG hungry themselves come to think of it.. |

Check my history but Garland is the next star. I see talent and I was very pissed when the Lakers traded DLO. Garland is basically Lillard, but if you can work on him more, he will be a multiple all star. Perfect next to LBJ to be honest... |

if you are the lakers and you think garland is the next star you draft him and keep him. IMO if hes there at 4 they will trade zo/bi couple future 1s for ad. |

If the Lakers make a pick on Thursday - it should be Garland. He'd be a good player for this team and also is very tradeable if a deal isn't done by then.
Alternatively Culver then Hunter would be my picks. |

@WojEspn
Teams are already expressing significant interest in the No. 4 overall pick belonging now to the Pelicans, league sources tell ESPN. Talks are expected to continue over the next few days. This deal could get even bigger for the Pelicans. _________________

We DESPERATELY need to buy some 2nd round picks to fill a few holes for the next couple years. Bazley if he slips would be awesome |

Glad I didn’t get emotionally invested in the pick this year. (Lakers front office sure wasn’t.)
Lakers scouts going to have to work extra hard in the next few years to make the most of our table scraps for picks. Hopefully, they can find some more gems. (Really hope we keep Caruso...that’s like a found pick.) |

Hope the Lakers arent cheap and are willing to start buying 2nd round draft picks. Starting this year. We will need the affordable/young rotation parts _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.'
