It can't start quickly enough!!!
So boring this time of year.
Summer league is over, FA period is over, guys are not practicing together, we know very little about what is happening.
Can't wait for some real Lakers news! _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

Yeah, was just about to say, I'm not an NFL fan but it's good to distract me, learn new names & storylines, and before I know it, NBA Media Day will be here. |

For most of my life, the preseason has meant essentially nothing to me and I don't watch or follow it. I check in here at LG for bits of news all year long but follow the season and playoffs games essentially starting right in Halloween week every year, since at least since the mid-eighties, maybe before. This a Fall-Winter sport and for some reason, soccer, baseball and football have been far more interesting until the weather changes. Maybe since the games mean nothing ... |

It will definitely give posters something else to discuss. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

That needs to happen. |

I'm really curious to see what the first 4-6 weeks of our schedule will be like. If a majority of those games are at home as usual it would really help this team build chemistry and confidence together. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

They should be. The front-loading of home games is because of the Grammy trip. There just aren’t a lot of dates available at Staples during February. Last year the Lakers played 3 home games in February, compared to Oct (5 in 12 days), Nov (7), Dec (6), and Jan (8).
I agree that those early home games should be a big help towards getting wins even as these guys get used to playing with each other. |

We're going to get more nationally televised games than the GSW. |

Last year they had a Laker's game on Thursday night before the Sunday Grammy Awards show. Are there other commitments that Staples has during February (besides Lakers, Kings and Clippers)?
I am sure that the the Grammys is an important cause but I had assumed that the Lakers long late January/February/early March road trips were due to the fact that the Lakers continue to be some of the biggest draws. In the dog days of late January/February/early March when it becomes clear that a team will not be competing for a playoff spot, it is hard to get fans in seats. Even when the Lakers are down, attendance is up (often with Lakers fans).
There are probably multiple reasons why the NBA schedules it like that. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Yes/no/maybe. Often you see players point to bonding on the road as something that made them a tighter group. I would guess that Lebron gets more corporate time at home. But it is probably a case by case situation. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Not really concerned with opening day opponent so much.
