PG already stated this in his 3 part ESPN series.
When he was talking with DWade he mentioned being able to join the Lakers down the line.

He’s giving me flashbacks to indecisive Dwight Howard.

Maybe for the vet minimum.

Your chance passed by PG. it’s never coming to you again. Especially since you won’t be any good after 4 years of your prime anyway. And again especially with Ingram gonna be better anyway.

After a 18-3 start in Oklahoma City, Paul George says "he can see himself retiring a Thunder"

After a 7-13 midseason swoon, Paul George says "we're not moving the ball enough, I can't get to my spots" in a thinly veiled swipe at Russell Westbrook. When asked about trade possibilities, Paul says "we'll see. you never know, but we'll see"

After a 1-4 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, a dejected Paul George says "you gotta give us credit, we really stepped it up and beat a really good team. we just gotta come back better next year, this is only step 2 of the process."

After two NBA championships, the Lakers begin the 2021-2022 offseason with a recently retired Lebron James, co-MVPs Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and Lonzo & Lamelo Ball finally teaming up together. With only the taxpayer mid-level exception at their disposal, the Lakers placed a call to Aaron Mintz's hologram iPhone XX but he left it on silent as they were filming "Where is Paul George going after Oklahoma City retracted from the league due to bankruptcy?" Paul George, content with a minimum salary from the newly-formed El Paso Tacos basketball club exclaims: "It's been my lifelong dream to come off the bench for an expansion team in a city that mildly resembles Palmdale, if you squint hard enough... oh, and by the way, tell the Lakers I'm coming" *wink

I just wrote the next 4 years of Paul George content for you aggregators out there.

This deserves an oscar.

He didn't even grant Magic a meeting. I hope he doesn't think this is like LeBron. You aren't gonna be hated for the next 4 years and then announce you're coming here and everybody is gonna see you as some hero and embrace you You ain't LeBron. You had your chance and you rejected us. You have to be delusional to think the fan base will embrace him after what he did.

This homecoming he's talking about must be the Clippers.

He didn’t grant a meeting because he didn’t want to feel like the bad villain.

In his own words, he didn't want to waste the Lakers' time because he had already made his decision. That doesn't really mean much, though. To not even give the Lakers a meeting just added to the embarrassment, which he either didn't consider, or did consider but didn't care. But whatever. It's a moot discussion topic at this point. Becoming a Laker in 4 years shouldn't even be on his mind. The fan base will treat him like dirt for the next 4 years and won't want anything to do with him. Can't have both. As we said before it happened, staying in OKC would never be worth it because it would automatically make him a lifelong villain in LA. Well, he chose to stay in OKC. Now he's never going to forget it for the rest of his life, especially if the Lakers win a title. Hope the bromance with Westbrook was worth it.

Exactly. Now it’s time for him to accept and move on.

Yeah except I would not be surprised if Mintz sold George hard against the lakers and made it personal emphasizing the fact “they didn’t want him enough to trade for him” when lakers were desperate for a star and he was willing to come.

I think the 3 hour doc he made was basically to express that he knows he’s gonna be hated for not choosing the Lakers, thankfully I didn’t put much stock into it to really care about it.
