Take this however way you want to, but I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is in the Lakers organization. He said that a scenario that is being talked about is George/Slava/Mihm to Utah for Carlos Boozer. And in a separate trade, Lamar Odom would go to Seattle for Rahard Lewis. He told me that although publicly the Lakers are denying efforts to trade Odom, in reality they are upset with his underachievemnet and have been exploring trade options since mid January. Im not sure if this is going to happen but im just reporting what im hearing.

Wow these rumors sure are flying off the shelves.

Wouldn't mind getting Lewis.

Lewis and Boozer together would cap us out pretty hard for awhile though.

Why would the Lakers trade:

Mihm - quality center that is starting to become a top 10 center in the league
George - understands the triangle, has been playing great recently, expiring contract
Slava - another expiring contract

...for Carlos Boozer, who is constantly injured?

Odom for Rashard Lewis straight up would be a ripoff too, because then who would be our rebounder?

I'm not doubting your source but I am doubting the info he/she has.

i dont want boozer. dude took more time getting back from a hammy injury than ronny took getting back from heart surgery. dont need that kind of injur risk with that monster deal with the lack of drive. his rebounding numbers went down in his first year in utah.

give me lewis, stay away from boozer. especially if dealing for boozer costs us mihm. wed have to start kwame at the 5, which he didnt much enjoy is washington (but with how hes playing whos gives a $@#$ what he wants.) more importantly, the mihm factor. with butlers trade to washington that also lost us sucky, the perimeter d has much improved which has allowed mihm to not be consistently plagued by foul trouble. and with him in the game, we got to see some consistent numbers before he went down. keep mihm unless it nets us an all-star (preferably a big, at that) i know that last sentence sounds unreasonable, but its just where my heads at.

In lieu of not having a quality PG, and in view of our rebounding problems, I'm not totally prepared to give up on L.O. The Boozer trade would be a stroke of genius, if it could be pulled off.

Right now, Lamar is too much a part of our offense/defense structure. It would be like knocking off our rudder, in order to get a better engine.

Forget what I said, about a genius move... I must have been high, or something... The only genius move would be for someone like Timmy...

Why do people feel compelled to lie about this kind of stuff to trick a few gullible users? Do they have nothing better to do with their lives?

Yeah, they would cap us out, but they are excellent players. I personally don't believe this, but if it pans out: yippie!

Lewis I can half see - Though he has been there for the Lakers taking for a while now BUT Boozer?

Nope. Not in his current just got back from injury state. He has to play out the season and show health and the form he was in BEFORE the injury, in order to really have someone trade for him.

Rather ironic I found this same trade scenario at Insidehoops.com.

"Trade Chris Mihm, Devean George and Slava Medvedenko to Utah for Carlos Boozer. Mihm's name hasn't surfaced as possible trade bait, but he'd draw some interest if the Lakers decided to make him available. He's got an attractive salary cap number - $3.7 million this year, $4.2 million next year - he's having a solid season and he'd definitely help a playoff team looking to beef up in its frontcourt." Los Angeles Daily News

Go Lakers!
