Who ever wins the poll cannot be the biggest surprise because that person just won the poll--it would not be a surprise.

Woahhh.

It sounds like we should have a surprise bump later to see who won/was right. I don't care who it is. I like surprises.

I honestly think most of you will be surprised how much you like Rondo. We haven't had a diligent back up PG since...Have we ever had one?

To give an answer thats on the poll; Svi. He's NBA ready and LBJs gravity is going to make it real easy for him.

I think there won't be any great player surprises, aside from injury outages which are always a shock.

For Lakers fans or for the general media?

Cause for the overall general media it's going to be Lonzo easily. People love (bleep) on Zo, he's going to be our 2nd or 3rd best player.

I believe in Zo. He's my choice. I think so many people in the media sleep on him and have already written him off like he's already peaked. To me, he's already a top level pg because of his defense, rebounding and his passing. I think he will make a huge jump this season and become a borderline all star. His instincts for the game cant be taught. He is special without having to score. Thata is the rarest kind of greatness. Having Lbj will only enhance his game. I cant wait for people to eat crow.

Will it be a surprise if he plays well? IMO no. I agree with you that Ball showed flashes last year of what he capable of. This year I think he sustains it consistently over the season. Maybe the national opinion will change but I think most Laker fans think he will have a much bigger impact in his second year.

I feel the same about Ingram too. I'm expecting them both to have "breakout" years. Maybe I'm overly optimistic but I think Ingram is ready to force himself into the conversation of being an All-Star type player being compared favorably to to George, Butler or Leonard types.

I agree with you on Ingram as well. It's fun to be excited and optimistic about our young guys this year because we should actually win some games lol. That always makes it better!

I think it's Josh Hart since he improved a variety of skills that should make him unguardable with single coverage, and people don't seem to expect much from him.

Who do you expect will be this year's biggest surprise?

Great Question, Im expecting everyone to do well so i wont really be surprised.

Here is my question: Who is going to be the biggest disappointment?

If Ingram and Kuzma are projected to be very good by most fans, how are they going to be the biggest surprises?

That’s why I voted for Hart, having those guys on this poll doesn’t make sense, they are expected to be good to great.

Few/virtually no one saw reason to expect significant measurable productive over the summer growth from Lakers hopefuls, such as:
Penberthy, Rush, Walton, Cook, Vujacic, Douthit, Farmar, Crittenton, Caracter, Ebanks, Morris, and Nance.

Some (divided opinions) expected something from Randle, and/ or Clarkson.

Many people expected significant growth over the summer:
Bynum, Dlo.

This year we have: Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Ball, and Zubac.
If you ask what's wrong with this picture, it's clear at least four of them don't belong anywhere near the first group.

Their first and second year production makes it clear they are at least even with or above the second group.

Bynum was called the second best center in the league before injuries took over. The jury is out on Dlo,, depending on your viewpoint.

Imo, the four players definitely belong in that third group, and if just a couple of them live up to expectations this year, as they seem to be on their way to, in my opinion, the sky is the limit, this year.

I picture Ingram holding his own against Durant, giving back what KD gives him. I expect Kuzma to do the same if not better to Klay. LeBron will out play Draymond. The bench should prevail. Lonzo is the great unknown, not better than Steph, but he will bring things to the table that Steph doesn't. Hart, I believe, is the secret weapon, because they can't stop everyone.

Kuzma, easily. You guys are going to see a lot of our players fold next to LeBron but I think Kuzma is built for this type of pressure.

Yeah this is my line of thinking...

Kuz is going to show he's the #2 to LeBon, not BI.

Define “fold”... these guys have been working there tail off this summer to play at a high level with LeBron.
