Quote:
Russell Westbrook underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday, a procedure that likely will force him to miss the entire preseason and could sideline him for the Oklahoma City Thunder's first few regular-season games.

Westbrook will be re-evaluated in four weeks

Quote:
Westbrook experienced some stiffness in the knee over the past week during individual workouts while preparing for training camp. He elected to have a standard scope as a pre-emptive "maintenance" procedure rather than potentially dealing with issues throughout the season.

Quote:
the situation is not viewed by the team as anything to be alarmed about, with no lingering issues anticipated to follow the procedure.

How funny is it gonna be for PG13 when he is the only star and Westbrook is out a few months and they miss the playoffs?

How will that "unfinished business" look then moron?

The Thunder won't miss the playoffs with Westbrook out just two months if he returns healthy, unless PG also gets hurt for a similar length of their season. What will be interesting is the club's strength at season's close; who finishes ahead of whom, Thunder and Lakers, and how did the clubs fare against each other ?

I'm rooting for the Lakers, but I've been saying for months now: LeBron's resistance to serious injury and to a related absence is only a matter of time. Time always gets its man.

Fortunately for them they have a real reliable back up PG who can easily slide into a starting role and help the Thunder get some wins while he works to comeback.
