Quote:
THE birth of a rare red calf in Israel points to a Biblical prophecy that may not be good news for any of us.

Quote:
In both Christianity and Judaism, the red heifer is central to the prediction about the “end of times”.

Quote:
Jewish and Christian fundamentalists believe that once a red heifer is born they will be able to rebuild the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. But in order to do this, they would have to demolish what stands on the hill today — the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic holy temple.

Quote:
once the Temple is rebuilt the world will welcome the coming of the Jewish Messiah

Jews and Christians are going out of their minds.

What to attribute this to other than crazy religious hysteria? Its not the first time in history and won't be the last either.

Let me address the quotes put up by the OP...

The birth of the red heifer does indeed point to Bible prophecy, and it is a central aspect of the end times. An unblemished, pure red heifer is the key ingredient to Temple worship. All of the materials to build another temple are in storage. All the Israelis have been waiting for is a green light to build it, and the birth of the red heifer would appear to signal that construction can commence.

The Third Temple could be built alongside the Dome of the Rock, as there is enough room. Whether or not that's a good idea is another question?

Whether or not it is good news or bad news for the rest of us seems to be subjective? FYI, Bible prophecy has 100% accuracy track record, and there is no reason to think it would not continue to be so... I wouldn't call it "hysteria"; the prophecies of the Bible are actually coming to pass!

During the Tribulation period, the man whom the Jews will first accept as their "Messiah" will really turn out to be the "Antichrist". In the middle of the Tribulation period, the Antichrist will go to the Temple and declare himself to be god. Then the Antichrist will make war against the Jews. The Jews won't completely accept Jesus as their "Messiah" until the end when the Second Coming of Christ happens.

Hey, Ray, do you remember something in the bible about the last days when the dead would rise from the grave?

Jews and Christians have been forecasting the end of times for at least 2000 years now. Even longer.

If you cherry pick verses, ignore more than 2000 years of history, and read the text according your own cultural/political biases, then yeah. And if you take that to the extreme, then you get "100%" accuracy.

In reality, the many authors who wrote that stuff had no conception of our world today and were talking about things that they believed would happen soon, not millennia later.

you are correct on that last part. but what they thought would happen when technically has no bearing on if/when these prophecies come true. There are things to help you tell the time based on these prophecies but it's not an exact watch or number of days when everything will occur leading up to these things. it's usually based on events or an event. the authors per the scriptures got these ideas via divine inspiration. for arguments sake, if that is true. The actual things they speak of could/have come to pass and others will or could do so in the future. now is that future the "near" or "distant" future in human terms? I dont know and neither do they. Should you always keep your eyes and ears open..just in case? Yep. Would rather be safe, than sorry.

When the guy on he corner with the big sign and cross is yelling End times, End times. Should you pay attention? Sure. will it be over tomorrow? Maybe. Will I be here to see it? Hopefully not. There is no guarantee that me or the sign dude will be awake tomorrow morning. But as they say, If you already ready, you aint got to get ready. So there is a lack of fear or wonder about it. You go along with your everyday life living it as proper as you can based on those scripts and you should have nothing to worry about. if you dont believe. then thats on you if you will wish you had if that time ever comes(according to those that dont believe.)

Those on the fence. like i said. keep your eyes and ears open...just in case.

The moment you try to rationalize what they wrote, you are imposing your interpretation on their words. There are no "prophecies," it's a bunch of people reacting to the Babylonian captivity and other crucial events in early Jewish history. It has nothing to do with us or the future, near or distant.

Looks like a normal calf to me, born several times a year all over the world. So what is it takes makes this poor animal so special?

It's a bible chapter taught in very few churches. I've read the bible twice with the exception of Revelations. I don't understand it.

And to take it a step further, what they wrote was their interpretation of a previous persons interpretation of a previous persons interpretation and so on and so forth, all edited based on who was in charge at that time in history.

Go take a look at a Torah at a rabbinical school. They're covered in notes by generations of rabbis making their own interpretation of what is written.
