Reading and watching this made me feel like I was reliving my abnormal psych class in college and my professor was giving us a case study on delusional behavior.

Quote:
The Cleveland Cavaliers may not have LeBron James this season, but Tristan Thompson says they remain the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.

"We're still four-time Eastern Conference champions, so until you take us down from that, teams ain't got much to say. Boston, Philly, they ain't got much to say," Thompson told reporters on Thursday. "Boston had homecourt Game 7 and lost. Philly, you guys almost got swept. Toronto -- we already know that story. So until someone takes us down, there's not much they can really say."

I want to laugh but seriously,

Arn't athletes supposed to think this way?

They have to believe they can win against every single team, otherwise they have given up before they even played the games.

Would you guys consider Tristan Thompson a bust? Solid role player but I feel like more should be expected from a guy picked #4 and who got a five year, 82 million dollar contract.

Pretty funny how ungrateful he was towards LeBron towards the end of LeBron's time in Cleveland when LeBron strongarming their front office is the only reason Thompson got that contract.

Affirmations are really important, but they have to be based on some kind of reality.

You can't speak something into existence that has no chance in hell of happening.

The Vegas Golden Knights say Hi. Everyone laughed at their goal of winning the Stanley Cup before the season started since they were made up of a cast of players that teams didn't want and they almost won the whole freaking thing.

Also in soccer, the case of Leicester city in the English Premier League, a couple of years back. Almost got kicked out of top flight soccer the year before since they finished near the bottom three, won the whole damn thing the year after with essentially the same cast of misfits.

I admit its rare but Cinderella stories do happen even in professional sports, so I think Tristan has the right attitude because you never know
