Why does it seem like the opponents always have open shots from three point range and the Lakers never get open shots out there? Fox was open all night last night and SVI couldn't get an open shot.
And after Fox hit his first couple threes, why didn't the Lakers tighten up on him?
Seems like Denver had a bunch of open shots in both games too while the Lakers did not.
Is this a strategic ploy? Trying to protect the middle?

We sagged off Fox and respected his speed/driving too much. He made us pay from deep.
I’ve noticed the same thing... I believe other teams run more plays to set up an open 3 than us. |

The Lakers get open threes whenever they look for them. Once the season starts the opponents will miss their open threes so it doesn't really matter that they're leaving them open. |

It's a percentage game. You know the saying...live by the 3 die by the 3. I'd rather see a team run a solid offense or run and gun than jack up 3s all night because at some point those shooters are going to go cold. _________________ Not a legend |

our fanbase is delusional currently, so what is happening on the court is not going to make sense.
OUr guys suck at shooting long distance. Like, maybe the worst in the league or close. We don't get open shots because we are simply not good at that. First, as a team, we are not really strategizing for that. WHy strategize for something we are not good at?
Seconds, assume most teams are better at it. They will strategize for it, and with that deliberate effort, they will get better looks. ON top of that, if you have multiple guys that are good at it, the chances of being open are far more likely. If you double one good shooter, another one is open, etc. We don't have that. Let's say we have one good shooter, there's no risk in doubling him and leaving another shooter open. You double the good shooter, and just worry about a layup or something from the other guy. If he's not going for a layup, just forget him. Low risk.
even if we got a lot of open looks, we'd brick them anyway. |

Well, May be is true but we instead are doing a lot of backdoors, rolls and transition layups & dunks |

that's the kind of thing that only works for about 10 games. |

Because the teams they're playing have continuity and they don't. Most other teams are just picking up where they left off last season and seasons prior. They're deep into their playbooks. Everything is familiar. The Lakers, in contrast, have a brand new group and playbook and are still implementing things. I'd think that people would understand this by now since we've had a new group nearly every year for what, five seasons now? _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God.
