He was flying back home to Louisville where it's still illegal. He probably could have scored some off the street but then he runs the risk of getting caught like zbo or worse.

Zbo was buying like 2 pounds of weed though wasn't he?

Dude made $7 million last year - he doesn't have a flunkie/cousin/driver to buy his drugs for him?

I'm one of the biggest DLO stans on LG, but there is no defending this. I'm not a smoker, nor do I consume any drugs or alcohol. I'm not against weed, but I'm not a fan of stuff combusting in your lungs, that (bleep) isn't good no matter how you want to spin it. You should be eating it, or drinking the THC for its effects. Anyway, dumb move.

Russell received a summons to appear in court for marijuana possession of less than 50 grams, according to the Port Authority spokesperson. The citation Russell received is a violation under New York law and is punishable by a fine of $100 or less.

An NBA player would be required to enter the league's marijuana program if the player "has been convicted of (including a plea of guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to) the use or possession of marijuana in violation of the law," according to the current collective bargaining agreement. There's no suspension until the third violation of the marijuana policy.

As someone pointed out on ESPN, he attempted to hide contraband within other contraband.

Sucks for D'LO as he's going into FA.
Should have been smarter, but he is young and these things seem to be his flaw.

Shouldn't take away from the season he had. Deserved all-star appearance. Stepped up as a leader and number 1 option for the team.

The question is if he's a super max 150M/5years player. I think if you're the Nets you need to take that chance on him. It could be slight overpayment, but the season he had, you have to take that risk. Or they could wait until someone (Phx probably) max him 100M/4Y and match. Most likely they do that.

Anyone know what D'LO's max values are for 4 years from another team or 5 years is own team?

Is it possible to right a wrong and re-sign DLo?

DLo will be fine. He'll get a max from someone. Might just go to the Knicks if he really like NY.

Isn't he good friends with Devin and Donovan? A backourt with either one would be fun to watch. Maybe less fun for DLO than him playing in Brooklyn.

Should the Nets get their max FA's and let DLO walk, I wonder if the Suns can free up enough $ to sign him. They are looking for a pg, and everyone knows the connection between Booker and DLO. Would be a fun backcourt, maybe not enough touches to go around, but...fun.
