See how far that gets us. Can't shoot players with potential vs proven all star.

No I’m saying we SHOULD trade guys but I highly doubt the Raptors would give up KL for Ingram and Ball. Us not trading Ingram for George is going to prove to be a big mistake.

Randle's agent wanted us to rescind his rights. whats hard to understand

So what? Agents and players ask for stuff all the time that teams refuse. We didn't have to give up Randle's rights just to please him. We did it because we wanted (1) Magic & Co. didn't believe in him and/or (2) they wanted to preserve cap space for next year.

I thought renouncing his rights when we didn’t need to was stupid. We could have waited. Let’s say he still signs the Pelican deal. We could have matched, and he would have been very tradeable. Sure, that’s hardball. But players play hardball too.

Come on you guys, are you really lakers fans? Quit (bleep) on the first game on the road against an emotional team whom we've always struggled against. Give it about 10 games before you jump for trading the entire team. Only way we can go is UP

So these guys were supposed to be defensive specialists yet we still gave up 128 pts.

It's time to blame the coach?

Of our two best defenders from last year..

One is in New Orleans..

The other came off the bench, and got sat by Luke in the 4th when he was making defensive plays, only to be brought back in with 14 seconds remaining.

So.....yeah.

Its funny how people always refer BI, Kuz and zo as our young core, yet, the only one who doesnt come out embarassing everyone is Hart. BI and Kuz need to learn how to provide consistent offensive output. And for Zo, I hope its because of his injury and he is just feeling rusty. But if he continue to play like that, he will be the next laughing stock taken as 2nd in the draft.

The good news is if the Lakers can get mediocre to bad shooting instead of really terrible shooting like tonight, they will win their share of games.

The bad news is it's looking like 0-2, the Rockets are next. Team that takes and makes more 3s than the Blazers.

Rockets got blown out by Pelicans. They're far from last year's team. As long as Melo gets enough minutes, we'll have a good chance.

Let's hope so. Going to need to improve quite a bit on the shooting % to win.

20 million also could've gotten you Ariza (15 million) and Ed Davis (4.4 million) if we're over concerned with the feelings of agents.

It's only the first game.

Portland always plays well at home.

BI and Kuz can't shoot, that was well known from the get go.

Portland showed you how a shooter with no defense can affect a game.

Luke needs to take notes.

Svi should've played.

Kuzma, you aren't Klay Thompson....

I LOVED the Ball, Hart, Ingram, Lebron and Kuzma lineup.

If Walton commits to having those 5 play the majority of the minutes, Lakers will wh very good.

Ingram, Ball and Kuzma are not near the level they can be.

Ingram: no outside shot, and bad FT
Ball: tentative, no drive into the paint, no finishing inside
Kuzma: lot of flash, very liittle consistency, (and bad FT)

But the season's only started.. We got ways go go.. and i'm confident they'll improve.

Josh Hart? Hustle ALL DAY!!

Welp. In Portland, to open the season, just about as guaranteed a loss as it gets. And we always lose to Portland in exactly the same manner. They get the long ball, and the bounces. Lakers can't hit open shots.

This time around:

Starting unit played well, except KCP.

Bench sucked, except Hart.

Small ball isn't meant for 27 minutes per game. Easily countered.

On to Houston.

Should be a age limit for this site. Seems like a bunch of kids in here. Like we didn't know it was going to take a while to gel. We didn't rebound, shoot, play as good defense as we can yet we still kept it close. We're fine. You learn more from your loses then wins

On the road in one of the hardest places to play in the NBA, a bunch of new guys playing together vs the 3 seed last year...I had this penciled in as a loss TBH.

I saw some good stuff tonight, we just didn’t make enough shots.

He missed some open 3s, but he wasn't terrible overall.

Kuzma was worse on both ends of the floor.

KCP and Lance played a combined 47 minutes and provided negligible impact.

LeBron 2010 Heat team started off with a L also, and the same with the Cavs in 2014. It's tradition.

Agreed, a lot more active and effective on defense outside of JaVale and Rondo here and there. Hopefully that becomes a 4th Q lineup sooner rather than later.
