The 3pt% is encouraging ..

Freethrow% 🀒🀒

Defensive rating still needs work ... I believe we are 3rd or 4th in defensive rating during this win streak

Turnovers is terrible too

Cool... it's always nice to see what those stats ultimately mean.

My takeaway is what most of us already knew... our defensive rating was skewed by having no center for ten games.

If we can reduce turnovers, I think we will be in really good shape for a playoff run.

So we supposedly don’t have shooters yet we are ranked 12th in 3pt shooting, something tells me there is a agenda towards the Lakers and the players who can actually shoot the ball.

NOTE - Someone created a nice thread discussing where this team ranks amongst the rest of the League in various statistical measures. I attempted to merge that thread into this one, and for whatever reason, it deleted the thread rather than merging it. I believe this is a bug that needs to be fixed, but unfortunately we cannot retrieve the thread.

My apologies.

Can we get team rating numbers since Tyson Chandler's arrival?

I think that changes everything.

The defensive rebounding numbers have to be poor.

We're 10th and 12th in Drbd and Orbd respectively. Gonna need an upstick in the former, that shouldn't be beyond us. Give us an extra possession or 2, they all count.

We can't easily do an accurate drill down just yet since most sources don't provide data until a player reaches the 10 game mark.

Pre Chandler:

Winning % : 21st
Offensive Efficiency: 10th
Defensive Efficiency: 23rd

Shooting % : 3rd
3 pt %: 20th
Rebounding: 15th
Blocks: 7th

Turnovers : 22nd

Post Chandler:

Winning %: 11th
Offensive Efficiency: 9th
Defensive Efficiency: 17th

Shooting % : 5th
3pt % : 11th
Rebounding: 9th

Blocks : 3rd
Turnovers: 22nd

Just the Games Chandler has Played in

Winning %: 2nd
Offensive Efficiency: 8th
Defensive Efficiency: 8th

Thanks to all the stat-heads. This stuff is very interesting, especially charting our trends as the season progresses.

So fix turnovers and you got something. Is that the new teammates? I see at least 3 unforced turnovers a game where players are making passes that aren't there. Almost cost them against the Cavs.

^I'm pretty certain it's the roster turnover with so many new teammates, as you said.

The Lakers are one of 5 teams in the league with both a winning record at home AND on the road, and one of 2 teams in the Western Conference with that distinction.

The others are:

Toronto
Milwaukee
Indiana
OKC

They are also tied with San Antonio and Memphis for most wins against Western Conference teams, and are one game out of the #1 seed in the West.
