They almost blew that lead, crazy. We better not go for any revival projects for the bullpen on the trade market this year. I want proven commodities. _________________ |

Do we need mid relief or a new closer? |

I'm sorry, I just don't trust Jansen. He's shaky. This is not a time for sentimentality and just hoping Jansen will be OK in the postseason. Get a guy that can replace him if you need to make a move. Hand will cost a boatload and I don't see that as this FO's type of move. I still say Will Smith is the answer, as a rental, and he's pitched fantastically well.
Oh, and with Rich Hill having a flexor strain, there is absolutely no guarantee that he makes it back. We can hope, but that can be a very tricky injury. I don't like Stripling as a Game 4 starter in the postseason, though he'll be fine for quality regular season innings. Maeda is going to be in the bullpen in the postseason. So this means that Urias may have to be counted on for the postseason rotation. And hey, that's fine, but it does shorten the bullpen a bit if Hill can't make it back and be effective. Another bullpen weapon is absolutely needed. |

Yup, it's been 2 years now. He doesn't have it anymore. |

Yeah, I was encouraged by one of his appearances in SF in the last series there, but most appearances it just feels like a struggle, and it simply wasn't like that up until last year (at least in the regular season). I really hope they address it because, as I said, this isn't the time to just hope that everything turns out OK. It's a potential real issue, and they have the means to address it, and they damn well better not be worried about hurting someone's feelings. |

The Astros broke Jansen apparently. He hasn’t been the same since that World Series. _________________ |

He had an excellent stretch and I though maybe he was fine, but no it's clear he doesn't have it. Quite clear. The only thing I'll say in defense of last night is that even at his peak Jansen never handled those situations well - coming into a jam with runners on, no outs, after a quick warm-up in a game that you never expected to enter? Tough for any closer, especially one whose margin of error is basically zilch at this point
The encouraging thing is that he threw his slider a lot last night, including consecutive times in the Posey at-bat, eventually getting him to fly out to Verdugo |

^ great point of Kenley having trouble entering the game too quickly and with runners on base; even during his dominant stretch he was always a bit shaky when this happened. |

Is Kike the worst offensive player you've ever seen wear a Dodger uniform??
He's up there with Mike Davis |

Walker Buehler. 3 pitches from a game we’d remember for the rest of our lives. 16ks in 9ip |

It's true what Hershiser said during the game, everytime it seems like Buehler is going to do something special. |

Epic game from Buehler. He gave our bullpen a much needed rest. Glad he got the win. _________________ |

Damn, imagine if we had an even slightly above average pen, we'd be ~58-19 and on pace for best record of all-time!
Trade deadline is only 5 weeks away, grab a proven power arm!! |

16Ks without a walk, the most by a Dodger pitcher since the mound moved to the current distance in 1893! Thanks ESPN! |

Playoff Grandal might be the worst offensive player I've seen in recent times. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.
