T-Mac or KG?
Riiiiiiight...
I think K-Mart and Watson is much more likely. Mitch has had a jones for Watson for a while, and K-Mart is FAR more likely to be traded given his unhappiness with George Karl. I don't see any Top 10 players (T-Mac, KG) moving, but I see some Top 50-types (K-Mart) getting dealt.

Don't you guys think this could be one gigantic, elaborate smokescreen?
Seriously, why would Houston trade its franchise player to an in-conference rival?
There could be a deal in the works, but it could also be much smaller than this internet fantasyland dream that's circulating.
If there is a deal at all. |

Fact is most of the rumors ya ever hear are false.
Half of 'em are planted by GMs on purpose for one reason or another
If the Lakers are working on a trade, the HUGE likelihood is that it's not
involving Francis and it's something we've heard next-to-nothing about. |

Why would Houston trade T-Mac for Francis? They could get much better players. |
Besides Houston would say to that, "been there done that" when it came ot such a thing. Absolutely preposterous. OOOOOOoohhh I'll be glad when this week is over! Friday can't get here soon enough!
Some of the greatest lies of our time have been told this week alone! _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

So true... Jackson has to be laughing at the bait thrown the masses too!
Jax is proabably saying "anybody that even slightly understands me should be fully aware of the fact that Steve Francis and, I will surely never have anything to do with each other."
Rabid fans will eat any meat thrown at them and, the media comedians can run with any story. They don't have anything else to do. _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

He's been having a series of arguments with Caron1 over at CL.
He basically said everyone was full of it and there is no deal.
To which the other insider camp responded that he's not connected this time. Or somesuch. |

I personally hope that Stevie Franchise shares a backcourt with Starbury.

I wouldn't get my hopes up... But it's clear that the McGrady and Yao fellowship hasn't worked. Houston is horrible, and T-Mac's back problems are problem causing them worry considering that he hasn't delivered. He hasn't meshed with Van Gundy well at all, and the team continues to lose. They may be hitting the panic button.
Steve Francis for all of his problems, he's a player who they know and who the fans appreciate. T-Mac isn't working but if they can replace him with a former all-star and a fringe all-star, then MAYBE they would pull the trigger.
It makes sense in the sense that Orlando doesn't want McGrady back, he quit on them. So if Houston wanted Francis back, they would need a third team to get involved. |

That still makes no sense.
That would mean they traded Francis to get McGrady only to get Francis back....

For some reason, I think there are many people who like to make up rumors to get us riled up. I think they probably come here and laugh at us because people on this site scour every message board on earth for any little rumor.
Still, I trust Lionel. He said 100%. So sit back, relax, and we'll get who we get. It should make us better, but not a contender. So it'll probably be George and lamar for Tmac (or something like that). I can't imagine us trading Bynum.

I don't think Houston has given up on McGrady/Yao just yet. They have had a ton of injuries, and were playing really well before the all-star break. Plus Rafer Alston has been one of the top PG's in the game during their winning run. It'll be interesting to see how those 3 can mesh over time and gives Houston a good platform to keep adding role players around.

we'll probably know by tonight since the lakers play portland and the next game is past the deadline. any players involved in a trade will most likely see little playing time or none at all. |
