According to Dave Smith (1540 the ticket)

He just said Barkley told Steven A Smith on quite frankley that he was better than Magic and Bird. When asked about where he(barkley) rates himself amongst Magic, Bird, MJ etc. Barkley said that while he admits MJ was greater than him(GOAT) he said he was better than Magic and Bird because they played with HOF'ers and he played with Garbage. Barkley said when they finally did give him some guys to play with he went to the NBA finals.

This info came from the Dave Smith show (1540 the ticket) dont know if anyone else is listening.

Again Barkely is a self consumed ass.

He also said something along the same lines, saying he felt he was the
best player in the game during Jordan's career aside from MJ.

When he said it the time I saw it, it was in TNT's studio with Magic sitting
right at the same desk.

The guy is funny as heck sometimes but he has no class.

Gotta remember he's the same guy who was the ONLY person to leave
Kobe off his "Next 10" a couple days ago, so he's clearly either biased
as heck and/or dumb as a sack of lightbulbs.

Haha, what a moron. That same finals team of his also almost got beat by the last-seeded Lakers. One Majerle miss (and Peeler not being injured) and we probably steal that series.

Chuck is a moron...I can't understand why he is so popular. All he's got is a big mouth. I can think of about 20 players I would rank above him when he played. Dude doesn't have a clue, or any class either.

Chuck said he played with "garbage"? Yup, guys like Dr. J, Moses Malone, Andrew Toney and Mo Cheeks were garbage while he was in Philly. Then later in his career, he played with Akeem and Drexler who were also garbage. Some real good comments from the fat @ss.

Scoreboard:
Magic/Bird: 8 Championships
Barkley: 0 Championships

Sir Fatty needs an open hand slap across the face. If that's the case why does he hate on Kobe so much? "The Lakers suck and Kobe needs to get his team involved but until he learns to make his teammates better he can't be considered the best" what was his excuse? Why couldn't the GOAT besides Jordan make his teams better?

Barkley may be all of those things you said, but there is no way you can name 20 players who were anywhere near his level during his era.

Charles is, as usual, right on the mark. I mean, Magic and Bird were so overated, they couldn't even take a bunch of talented, NBA-bound college players to the NCAA championship game in '79. Oh, wait a minute …

If Chuck was a better player than Magic/Bird then I'm marrying Tanith Belbin.

(oh lordie, I don't buy it for a second, but please tell me Chuck was better
than those guys!)

Dang, I used to like Charles but he has proven himself such a huge idiot that at this point I simply hate his guts.

So Magic and Bird win on every level, but it was only because they always got lucky with teammates.

Barkley does two things here. 1, he obvioulsy makes himself look like a fool. And 2, he takes his MJ nuthugging to a whole new level.

Chuck is a funny dude. I don't know what he was talking about. He's not even the same league as Bird or Magic. If each of those only played with 1 hall of Famer, they would still have rings. And even though he reached the finals, he couldn't finish the deal...

I know one thing, I was amazed as everyone else (the TNT panel) when he didn't have kobe on his top 10 list. Such a hater...

Not to mention that if instant replay was in at the time they would have lost that series. Barkley's tip in to force the final game into overtime was a split second after the buzzer, but it was ruled good.

I like Barkley, he's a funny guy. He's very stubborn and biased, but he's entertaining. That having been said he isn't anywhere in Magic or Larry's categroy, and while he was definately one of the tops in the 90s, I would put Olajuwon ahead of him without a doubt. And Barkley has even said that he would also on several occasions.

The line that he didn't have any teammates, yeah maybe not in Philly, but in Pheonix he had: Kevin Johnson, Tom Chambers, Danny Ainge, Cedric Ceballos, Waymon Tisdale, A.C. Green, Dan Majerle, all of those guys were former all-stars. That Phoenix team that lost to the Bulls was a travelling all-star team basically. They only made one finals appearance in his three or four seasons there, however, losing two series that to Houston after being up 2-0.

He then got traded to Houston where he played with 3 of the greatest 50 players of all time: Olajuwon, Drexler, and Pippen. Never made it back to the finals, losing out to the likes of Seattle and Utah. So that line is a cop out.

Damn, I was gonna say good luck with that, but then I read she is still in high school so I am gonna stay away from that one.

So if the Chuckster played with garbage, I guess that he "didn't make them better"? C'mon, Chuck, pass the ball, give up your shots so that others can get into the game, into rhythm.
