Lakers Rumors: Mutual Interest Exists With Jason Kidd To Potentially Replace Luke Walton

Quote:
“There’s another development that I’m hearing is gaining momentum, and that’s the possibility of Jason Kidd returning to the coaching ranks by succeeding Luke Walton with the Lakers. Now, I first heard Kidd’s name connected with the Lakers a while back. Right about the time the first round of, ‘Is Luke Walton on the hot seat?’ stories came out. Jeanie Buss, head of the Lakers, threw a bucket of water on that seat, cooled it off. And so I tucked away the talk of Kidd and the Lakers as something at the time, simply spitballing or connecting dots that weren’t necessarily part of the same mosaic. Now, I know that Kidd wants to coach again. And I know he expressed interest in the Knicks job before David Fizdale ultimately got it. … In the case of Jason and the Lakers, I figured it was a matter of Jason letting them know he was interested, and the Lakers saying, ‘Thanks, we’ll get back to you.’ Well, now sources are saying that the Lakers have actually gotten back to him and this has gone to the next level. And if the Lakers do make a move on Luke, which based on all of the rumblings could happen sooner rather than later, Kidd appears to be very much in the mix and possibly is even the favorite.”

For what it’s worth, Stephen a said the coach he heard would replace
Him is actively a head coach now. So it
Wouldn’t be Kidd.

Really? Kidd? Ya, choose another guy who has proven nothing, in fact even less as a coach than the guy we currently have.

Mike malone, Clifford, snyder, Dave joerger, Atkinson. These are the type of guys who we should be looking at. The guys that have been in the league for awhile paying their dues and just need an opportunity.

Oh crap.
If Stephen A said it, then the opposite will happen.
So it might be Kidd. Oh no!!!

Jason could've gotten an extra timeout if it weren't for those meddlin' k̶i̶d̶s̶ cameras.

That's some creative coaching. Exactly what we lack at the Lakers.

What has Kidd done to make him a better coach than Walton?

I do not want him near the Lakers. What he did as a coach? Nothing.
I would rather have Luke coaching this team than Kidd. No point in hiring another coach without experience. Its (bleep) decision if happens.

Kidd's record 183-190

Interim coach Prunty's record 21-16

Budenholzer's Bucks record 36-13

What the f*ck is the thought process here?

Why don't they look for a coach that has earned his job. Not some retread that has failed at two places.

The entire vibe of the quote (said by Ric Buecher BTW) sounds more like girls room gossip than something that actually has legs. Nevertheless, Kidd would be an oddball choice. There is literally no reason(s) to believe Kidd is the answer to anything. The best thing on Kidd’s resume is his playing career. That's it. Both he and Luke are young, inexperienced coaches, but Luke has still accomplished more. But I'm not buying Buecher’s gossip anyway.

IMO we need someone to motivate the younger players to start games with energy and have discipline when taking care of the ball. I have seen nothing to indicate that Kidd will bring that. I would rather have Mark Jackson at this point.

Magic is who will need to be fired if they can Luke Walton who is in an impossible injury situation since November, for Jason Kidd. This idea would confirm my worst fear of letting Lebron at the tail end of his career be LeGM
