So sick of seeing guys throw full court passes after a rebound which leads to a turnover, or a quick pass from the the sidelines which leads to a turnover. Risky lob attempts, bullet passes for guys who aren't looking, etc.. Like Stephan A said, LeBron is not going to be able to keep up with this pace all season long. Not only that, but while the younger guys have the athleticism to keep up with it, they're too inexperienced to make it all work. These turnovers are momentum killers IMO.

I'm worried it has almost turned in to a point of stubbornness. Analysts were pointing out how the Lakers were claiming they want to play at a top pace in the NBA, but that LeBron has never been on a top 15 pace team except for one season in the last 10+ years (where his team was #12). The guy is the disputed GOAT, toutd as having one of the best basketball minds and highest bball IQ's of all time, yet he never knew super fast pace was most complimentary to his play style? and not only that, but that playing his fastest pace ever would be optimum in his 16th season? I just don't buy that narrative.

I'm more sick of this low octane defense. Though, the "D" did have a few nice stretches tonight.

They need to keep pushing the ball on every possession, but make better decisions, especially with those full court passes. If they start looking to slow it down they will not make the playoffs because they will get away from the one thing they do well.

Does anyone really think the Lakers should become a halfcourt team?

I see a team that is staying very competitive with teams most likely going to the playoffs and they are doing it in what is year 1 of a brand new roster with very little time to work together. I don't have any problem with them keeping it up tempo, and we have the talent to run the other team into the ground. If we scored under 100 points a game you would all be screaming we have no offense. I think by December most of you will see the value in a team that can move the ball up court quickly. Making a decision right now is a joke. You expect these guys to look like they have played together for a full season or two and cry about losing a few games early this season. I believe a little patients might server you all well. This team just beat Portland. They look improved each and every game. Try to calm down. Enjoy some fast break points for a change.

it all goes back to the same thing....
we have no gifted shooters. There are not that many great options for a team full of no long distance shooters (especially now). THis is one of the options.

The more good shooters we get, the more options we have to be successful in other styles.

They should push the ball when the opportunity is there, not make stupid full court passes or laser passes thru 3 defenders. And I'm not sure how one can make 'better decisions' when it comes to make a full court pass. It can fall short, can be overthrown or a defender can flat our steal it.

I noticed once the starters came back in the 4th when that huge lead(with Rondo running a slower paced offense), Lebron forced a pass to Ingram which led to a turnover and that got that entire run started for the Blazers.

Not really, considering Kuzma, Hart, Lonzo or Ball have all been inconsistent. How many of those passes have you seen Kuzma or Ingram fumble so far this season? Iv'e seen plenty. Just because they're young doesn't mean they can play that style without fumbling those passes.

Damn near every run all of these teams have made on us so far have been a result of unforced turnovers from these kinds of passes.

Length of the court passes are not the problem. The stupidest play from tonight was BI giving the ball to McGee 25 feet out, who then made a limp handoff that was stolen and taken in for a dunk. We make dumb plays on offense and fall asleep on defense. Both of those can improve with practice and time together with each other.

Pace is an advantage for us - run, run, run!

I didn’t look at the 80’s stats, but there are degrees of “fast”, where does the 80’s pace of the lakers fall amongst today’s NBA in terms of possession per 48?

Magic wants to return to the glory of showtime. He doesn't realize that showtime's success wasn't pace, but defense and a varied offensive attack.

Anyone longing for a slower pace hasn’t been watching the past few games. We are utterly horrible when we play ‘slow it down’ ball - it’s why leads our past two games have disappeared in the 4th.

If we slow it down, we will get exposed because we don't actually have an offensive philosophy. Have you been watching the games? We aren't very good at executing offensively at all. The pace gives us atleast an identity and is our only real advantage not named Lebron.

It’s playing a huge part in the 4th quarter blown leads. Have to be able to execute half court offense when it’s closing time.
