The Lakers lost to Denver in the preseason... made adjustments and became one of two teams to beat them this year.

We lost to Portland in the opener... then beat them on the road for the first time in years.

We lost to Minnesota... then managed to overcome MVP quality Derrick Rose to beat them.

We lost to the Spurs twice (barely) but then addressed the problem by signing Chandler.

Houston is struggling since the fight... we are slowly but surely improving.

I don't want to jinx it, but if you are paying attention most signs are very favorable... and the scary thing for the rest of the league is many of our youngsters have been underachieving so far.

I see GSW, Toronto, Celtics, maybe Denver when they get IT and MPJ as being better... but I wouldn't be shocked if we became the fifth best team this season. If Boogie doesn't recover we might even have a shot of upsetting the Warriors.

Good stuff. Big picture, signs are pointing to the Lakers figuring it out. They just need Ingram, Kuzma and Ball to continue to develop and keep ascending into really good players in this league.

Spurs games, those are wins with Chandler and some free throw shooting.

@Portland win is impressive. One of the NBA’s top home court advantages and Lakers finally won in their house of horrors against a pretty good team.

Denver is that team that looks like they will be racking up a ton of wins this season, so that was a great win too.

No complaints so far, only the spurs games really sting. Even 3 point shooting has been ok so far. 5-6 after all that is good enough and now time to make a run in the win column.

Yep, it's the improvement that's the key. I feel so much better about our chances with Chandler shoring up the defense.

If KCP and Svi start hitting threes... the youngsters improve... we can really have a nice season.

Phil, I know we’ve won a game since this thread, but if we were to win another game will you ask the Mods to ban you like you did last season? For those who don’t remember he was denied his ban... 😝

To be fair, the OP didn't clarify if he's talking about the LA Lakers or the Grand Valley Lakers. They are in Michigan. In some parallel world, Magic didn't develop any basketball skills, didn't get a big scholarship to Michigan State, and so he goes to s smaller college in Grand Valley, and is still a Laker.
