This will probably go down as the least popular thread here. But what the hell. These guys paint some damn fine word pictures. If one person picks up a book because of this then it's a good thing.

Any suggestions for a reading list from your choices? I enjoy mysteries but don't like ones where I'm able to figure it out before the end of the book.

Honestly, pick any book from any of the four. They're all excellent. Connelly and Mosely tend to be a bit darker. Crais' books have a bit more of a sense of humor to them, but are by no means comedy. Kellerman's main character is a psychologist, so it has more of that angle.

The one advantage for Mosely is he's been writing for over 30 years, so if you start at the beginning, you get a really cool look at LA over the span of his books.

All of them are writers whose books I get as soon as new ones come out.
