2-5 to start, complete with inconsistency and suspensions.
9 of 11 against a lesser challenging portion of the schedule, while roles are more defined, especially in the middle.

Is recent success sustainable, just something that happened for whatever reason, maybe even a flash in the pan? Your thoughts?

aberration. I wouldn't call it gelling because I don't see much in terms of building team chemistry, especially with or without play calling.

More like, the Lakers are efficient at points in the paint and transition. They acquired Tyson Chandler. They get enough possessions to make the scoring efficient. They play 15-20 minutes of solid defense, with some wavering.

It's hard to say with certainty because we've played so poorly against teams like Atlanta and Cleveland but I think if we had a center all season... we should be 14-4 right now. That would be hard to sustain.

11-7 is a more sustainable pace. So in terms of that record, I think it's doable.

Winning 9 of 11 is Warriors record setting pace... so if you mean that, I would say it's not unless the youngsters mostly start shooting well.

I'm hoping for 9 of 11... but will be okay with 11-7 pace.

Bouncing back against Orlando and the Spurs will be important... if we can make adjustments... then you have to feel more optimistic.

Fixed Center rotation and easier schedule.

Zo is settling in a bit, but it's mostly LeBron realizing he can't coast as much.

The young core needs to grow up fast; LeBron can only carry us so far.

Its like we fix one problem and another one rears its ugly head. First defense now turnovers.

If you're asking whether we will win 80% of our games for the rest of the season ... no.

The Lakers don't really look clearly better than anyone they play but they don't look like they're far behind anyone else either. They have consistent contribution from LeBron and JaVale and everyone else is a question mark from day to day but usually a few of the other guys step up each game.

I think the current trend will continue that they're competitive with every team, no matter how good or bad the opponent is.

I would say none of the above. The Roast hasn’t been in the oven long enough to check on it’s flavor, so whatever information we can study has no bearing on present conclusions. Not saying it’s not fun as fans to speculate, only that an Actual answer will be out of reach for a while

Free throw shooting a problem. 6th worst in league at 71%. Missed 11 in a 4 point home loss yesterday. If memory serves they've lost at least 1 or 2 other games at the line so far. They need to elevate the FT% to top half of league as season moves along.

That said, the team has been playing better of late but mainly, as LakersRGolden pointed out, because LeBron is asserting himself more. The young guys still battling inconsistency, although that's normal.

This team should at least make the playoffs this season. Anything less than that is a failure.

Back in 2001 ( I think ) we were sitting at 68% as a Team
That’s with SHAQ. This team is only 3 percentage points higher right now.
Let THAT sink in for a second

Revisiting:
After the 2-5 start, 15-5 since then. Roles are being settled on. Center play is solid. Batman found Robin. Defense is better. Luke said they wouldn't have been able to win the Miami game earlier this year and they're learning how to win.

How much of this is sustainable, especially with a stretch of games against losing teams coming up?
Is it still unsustainable?
If not, should we expect a losing streak soon?
Are these wins fools gold?

Trending. We are really tough to beat at home. Average team on the road. I think that will remain the case throughout the year.

15-5 is never an accident.

It's sustainable because we've done it with 2 major injuries to starters and we still have room to grow.

Defense and effort are always sustainable especially since we have key pieces that that don't give a damn about shots.

Was originally opposed to a trade of KCP because chemistry seems to be forming...but last night when he talked some ish to Luke after CFing a defensive assignment I changed my mind on that player only.

And limiting Lance would be a good idea...the Turnovers are eye gougers.

The thing that i'm not sure about is how're we going to do on FULL STRENGTH? (AKA Rondo + BI). I really hope Rondo coming back helps push down the turnovers. on the other hand, i don't see what's going to help with the free throws

easier schedule and chandler play a role in the record.
can also see communications better between lbj and zo and lbj and kuz.
kuz seems to be settling better playing with lbj
even lance seemed to be trying to pass more last night.
now need a long defender against guards like derozon, which could be bi.
bi does need to stop these long isolation plays.

now zo really needs to do better near the basket and learn some tear drop or kuz's hook shot.

I see gelling b/w LBJ/Kuz/Hart/Lonzo/Javale/Tyson.

Need more gel? BI/Lance/Beez.

Rondo seems to have been out for so long, not sure how much to make of it yet.

Even with some games against weaker competition, we can only look the other way for so long before it's clear that the wins mean something. Of course, we can't dismiss the first 7 games either, but we should know something after another 10 games (nearly half the season) with a full lineup and additional experience.

They're still playing sloppy games against weak teams.

Just remember they're missing Ingram and Rondo, key pieces.
