This thread needs to be locked, and an automatic 3 day suspension for the poster for quite possibly the WORST thread in the history of western civilization... Cites a source without saying so, horrible grammar/writing, confusing organization of his thoughts... I mean, the list goes on and on.

As pipe as T-Mac to the Lakers sounds on the surface, think about what all 3 teams would be getting out of a potential deal: Orlando is going with a youth movement so Francis will be moved for expiring K's and draft picks. Houston is defensively-oriented and their coach isn't the biggest fan of McGrady's lack thereof and a Yao/Odom/Franchise trio is somewhat young/intriguing although not too cheap. The Lakers obviously need another offensive weapon which T-Mac obviously would be.

Is this trade idea all that crazy? Perhaps, but its fun to contemplate nonetheless even if it only has about a 1% chance of actually happening.

Okay, so we're getting Kenyon Martin AND T-Mac for Odom and filler? YEAH EFFING RIGHT! Wake up people! Even in Columbia they can't get stuff as good as the pipe passed around LG. Even if we were getting only Tmac for Odom, I'd be very concerned about low price we'd be getting him for. Say what you want about Tmac's dropoff in production, he's still WAY better than Odom has been this season. What I hate even more is that I totally want to believe that he's coming here. Sometimes I feel like being an LG member is me working out my masochistic side.

gets mihm dg n slava

orl send out stevie to houston
gets back derek anderson, lenard, wesley

houston gets stevie odom
sends out tmac, wesley

I think that was what it was...
This trade is so complicated its hard to believe its going to happen.

If Houston ends up with Odom and Francis for moving T-Mac, then it deserves a genius prize, since (if you cancel out Francis) it means that they essentially traded Cato and Mobley (who was 1 year away from FA and would have left anyway) for Odom, Juwan Howard and Ty Lue. Imagine - one year of Mobley and Cato's bloated contract for Lamar and Juwan. It spins pretty easily from a Rocket p.o.v., and actually would make them better.

The first confusing part is Denver, unless it is so desparate to get out of K-Mart's contract (distinct possibility with Carmelo coming for an extension in the off-season) that it doesn't care anymore. Maybe they've even decided to invest in Nene in lieu of K-Mart. They also need a 2, in which case Wesley should end up there.

As for Orlando, there's no plausible reason for it to bother with this deal. There are better offers for Francis out there. A Penny for Francis deal straight-up does more to help it than anythign the Lakers, Rockets or Nugs could put together for them, unless the Nugs want to throw in Hodge or the Rockets put in Luther Head.
