Before training Nov. 5th
19/51 = 37.3 FG%
5/23 = 21.7 3PT%
13/14 = 92.9 FT%

After training Nov. 5th
96/220 = 43.6 FG%
52/134 = 38.8 3PT%
50/56 = 89.3 FT%

(Yes, free throws slightly dropped due to small sample size)

Why can't the team hire this guy to be our overall shooting coach? At the very least, he'd do wonders for our free throw woes.

Fabulous! KCP has really gotten on track. Hopefully he continues. I do find it disturbing that we have only one capable shooter playing with probably the best drive and dish player in the history of the league.

Maybe he makes more money as a freelancer than as a team hired shooting coach. Definitely been a difference with KCP. At the start of the year it felt like Hart was the guy and KCP was a waste. Fast forward and now KCP is really balling the teams most reliable outside shooter.

KCP is starting to realize his potential, I won’t trade him unless we get Beal or AD.

He’s legit. You see him working, talking to nba players. He grew up with Q Cooks and KD. Curry knew who he was just by seeing him.

I hope BI and Zo follow KCP's lead then. Pretty disappointing someone like Zo wouldn't have jumped on getting someone like this LAST season. Props to KCP for doing what it takes to get better.

Hopefully not. Unless we get some three point shooters in return.

Exactly what I was thinking. BI has all the time in the world to date strippers, shopping at Gucci and attending his rap buddies events and Zo has time to make diss tracks on his teammates, design his bbb shoes, film his reality tv show and while all of this crap is taking away time on the court for these unproven lottery picks.

Basically just living the B-List celebrity life seems more important than working on their craft.

While you got guys like Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart who are bustin their asses everyday to get a chance.

I'm skeptical of this Instagram flex. This is kind of a subjective way to look at numbers. I mean he was shooting so bad, below career numbers. There was no where to go but up. I don't recall any of us being happy with KCP in November and parts of December. But that fugly shooting period is part of the improvement example? How much do you attribute this to a shooting coach versus simply getting out of a slump and the law of averages? I mean he shot 43% and 38% from threes last year... how do you explain that "miracle" since we're attributing these similar numbers to this guru?

Agreed. He shot 38% on high volume from 3 last year. This looks more like KCP regressing to his mean than lethalshooter teaching him how to shoot. Might have cleaned up some issues that caused his early season slump or it could've just been random noise. Hard to say but either way I wouldn't expect him to teach our core how to shoot.

That would be dope if it was the Lakers, but his wording shows he hasn't accepted.

Just throw a bunch of money at him. I'm sure if the Lakers really wanted him, they'd get him. I don't know how much his value would be though if he, indeed, could do what he advertised.

He said he didn’t get an offer from the Lakers but did from 10+ teams
I really hope the new offer he got today is from the Lakers

How does a team shooting coach work?

For instance, this guy is KCP's personal shooting coach. Let's say the Lakers hire another shooting coach - how would that work?

What if they have different shooting philosophies? Does KCP have to take his advice? Does his personal shooting coach now work with the Lakers shooting coach to come up with a strategy on how to help KCP?

If there's 12 guys on the team with 12 different personal shooting coaches, then how does that work with the team shooting coach? He now has to work with 12 different shooting coaches?

What happens if he doesn't agree with the personal shooting coach?

For instance, let's say Lonzo's personal shooting coach is LaVar Ball and now the Lakers have a shooting coach. The philosophies probably won't mesh.

Would the shooting coach just be available for everyone or does he have his own practice hours that everyone must attend?

This is all interesting to me.
