Quote:
Report: Jaguars expected to sign Nick Foles

The moment General Manager Howie Roseman announced the Eagles wouldn’t use the franchise tag on Nick Foles, the Jaguars became the favorites to land the quarterback in free agency. Alas, it appears Foles is headed to Jacksonville.

Les Bowen of philly.com reports a market for Foles “outside of Jacksonville has not developed” and the Jaguars “absolutely expect” to sign the former Super Bowl MVP when free agency opens March 13.

With the Jaguars as the only bidder, Foles might not get a contract that makes him among the highest-paid at his position, according to Bowen.

Washington, the Giants and Miami were thought to be other possible landing spots for Foles.

Foles, 30, went 4-1 in the postseason the past two seasons and 6-2 in the regular season in place of Carson Wentz the past two seasons.

^^^I guess this is a good move by the Jags....but Foles has never excited me. If I was a Jags fan, I think I would prefer drafting a QB.

Report: Steelers could have deal to trade Antonio Brown by Friday

I think he may go to the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.

My guess is AB goes to Oakland for the Dallas pick they got for Cooper (27th pick)

Antonio Brown is apparently being traded to the Bills! So the Steelers essentially sent him to Siberia.

Good luck catching passes from the least accurate QB in football, probably!

And now it appears that Ian Rapoport (who gets things wrong all the time) may have jumped the gun. What remarkably irresponsible reporting.

An NFL source says #Bills have inquired about Antonio Brown with the #Steelers, but no deal is imminent. In fact, another league source termed it "unlikely."

This guy covers the Steelers for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Perhaps this saga will be over soon:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pats vs Rams Superbowl again....seems like both teams are pretty active in the offseason.

AB posted something (I think on Instagram) where he's working out and he's wearing silver and black clothing. Says he'll announce his new team very soon. The Raiders have three 1st round picks. I'm guessing he'll be a Raidahhhh by the end of the day.

Hoping the Colts can get Landon Collins and right one wrong move (of many) of the Grigson era. Collins + Hooker would be a great duo in the cover 2 defense the Colts play.

There is just no way around this: the Raiders did really well here and the Steelers did really poorly. I love to clown on Jon Gruden as much as anyone, but there is nothing to not like here for the Raiders. Yeah, AB is a diva. Yes, he had become a total cancer for the Steelers. And yes, the Raiders probably still won't be very good this year and maybe not even next year. But they got one of the best players in football (who should be highly motivated) for what amounts to two years of good guaranteed money, and they didn't even give up any premium draft capital. They are flush with cap space, so the fact that they paid him pretty good guaranteed money isn't of major consequence IMO. And he'll be a big draw for them as they move to Las Vegas in 2020.

As for the Steelers, yes, they had to get rid of him because he had genuinely become toxic there. But to only get back 3rd and 5th round picks for such a great player, especially when it still leaves behind a nearly $21MM dead money cap charge, is a bitter pill to swallow.

Given the relatively low cost to acquire him, I'm surprised that another team wasn't willing to beat the price of 3rd/5th round picks. As well as paying him what the Raiders will pay him.

Happy he didn't go to the other Bay area team that was rumored to be interested.

If the Raiders still suck (which is very likely), at least they will be more entertaining to watch than last year.

I'm a Rams, Raiders, Charger fan in that order. I don't think the Raiders will suck next season. They have 1 season left as Oakland Raiders. I think the players will give a season to the faithfuls worthy of remembrance. Watch for the reemergence of BEAST MODE.

Steeler's wouldn't do it but the Pats should have went all-in. Brady won't be around forever and AB would take their offense to the next level, giving them someone to pop the top off of defenses.

There's just no way the Steelers were going to trade him to New England, even if they had offered their 1st round pick. I'm not saying they shouldn't have, but I'm just saying they would not have done it.
