Hi all,
After seeing all the stories about how Lowest Merion (real name Hyrum) had impacted so many of our lives, I thought it would be nice if we could have something tangible to show how much he mattered to us here. It just kind of gave me an empty feeling that after all his posts here, all he got was a four page thread. I wrote and rewrote multiple responses in that thread but ultimately ended up not saying anything at all because it just seemed like it wasn't good enough.
I spoke with his sister and parents to see if they needed help with funeral expenses, but they preferred the idea of doing something nice for his kids, either a college fund and/or gifts. I set a tentative goal of $5,000 and will keep the campaign open until the end of the month. After it's over, his parents said they will make sure the money gets used for the right purposes. I started us off with a hundred dollars. If you could leave a message with your story about how he impacted you, I'm sure his family would appreciate that as well.
P.S. Don't add a percentage "tip" through GoFundMe while making your donation-- it goes to the website, not the campaign.
Thank you for doing this. Clearly you care. So sorry, i'm not in a position now to contribute. _________________ Starting Lakers Dynasty6.0! NOW!!

Hi there, my name is Payum, Hyrum's brother-in-law. Just want to say thank you to all for the kind words and well wishes. Seeing all the love the Lakers community has given since Hyrum's passing has really opened my eyes to how generous people are and for that I want to say thank you. Hyrum and I used to carpool to Century City together for work and we would talk about Lakers non-stop and what has been going on in LakersGround that day, I actually introduced him to this community and LG really put a smile on his face whenever we chatted about certain posters and threads. Thank you again everybody for all the kindness. _________________ Phil Luke

Hopefully more people will see this thread once the holiday weekend is over. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman

Closing the fundraiser on December 1st at 11:59 p.m., so if anyone planned on donating but hasn't done so yet, now's the time. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Took longer than I expected to withdraw and get the funds to them, but his mom confirmed receiving the $501.61. Thanks again to all who contributed. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
