Cavs coming into this game riding a 12 game losing streak straight down to the NBA cellar.

No let ups tonight.

Preview: Cavaliers (8-35) at Lakers (23-20)

Lakers -9.5/-10.5 o/u 220.5

Cleveland is a miserable 8-35 this season and will arrive in Los Angeles on a 12-game losing streak, the most recent on Friday at Houston, when the Cavs were smothered 141-113 by the Rockets. It was the second consecutive game Cleveland has given up at least 140 points.

"I don't know; I don't know what we have right now, to be perfectly honest with you," Cavs coach Larry Drew said about the defense Friday. "I think what we do have, we're going to continue to try to challenge these guys every game we play. Hopefully we can come up with better numbers. I'm kind of a realist when it comes to that. I take what we have and try to make it work."

As of Saturday, the Cavs' 113.7 points per game allowed was still better than seven other teams, but their point differential of minus-11 was worst among all 30 teams. And in six games in the new year, they have given up a whopping 128.5 per game.

Those are good signs for the Lakers, who know they could use a victory.

Other than injuries to James and Rondo, the Lakers' Michael Beasley is day-to-day with a hand injury. Kevin Love (toe), John Henson (wrist) and J.R. Smith (undisclosed) remain out indefinitely for Cleveland. Former Laker Larry Nance Jr. is day-to-day for the Cavs with a knee injury, as is David Nwaba (ankle).

It’s a no lose situation tonight. If we win, great...if we don’t I’ll bet Luke is canned.

QUESTION: How does the LeBron-less Cavs compare to the LeBron-less Lakers?

ANSWER: They are the same...!

Disagree. I'm hoping the Lakers do what is necessary to beat this very crappy team. Also hoping that Zubac and Beasley maintain rotation status.

Both are winnable games if the young core play up to their potential.

A full injury report and Clarkson is 100% healthy. No excuses not to get a win tonight.

The frustration for the Lakers is that they are defending at a level exceeding all expectations, but, without LeBron James, the margins are too small for them to reliably win games on that alone.

Let's change that this game

I have a feeling Ingram's gonna have a huge game today

Odds on Hart fouling a 3 point shooter?
Kuzma hogging it on a 3v1 break
Lonzo air balling
Ingram shooting a 3

-Hart will foul twice on 3s. Once on Clarkson, another on Osman.
-Kuzma will hog and get 1 charging offensive foul with his head down and 2 guys wide open.
-No Lonzo airball, but 2 missed layups.
-Ingram with two 3 point attempts, but he will have a couple of good ISO performances against Cavs and Bulls, get confident about ISO Ingram and then look horrible @OKC and @Houston.

Know your competition

Seriously though, this is why bad habits develop. We know ISO Ingram is not good for Brandon or the team but he will do well against some lesser teams and then wonder why it doesn’t work against the better teams. It’s a cycle that seems to repeat itself.

I need to see them come out with energy at the start of the game. This getting off to a slow start, getting into the whole score wise is getting old.

If Zo gets 10 points and misses less than 5 3-pointers, Lakers should win...
