well in all fairness I would probably decline paying that much for grilled onions out of principle.. no matter how rich I was. What kind of evil burger stand does that?

He eats ground round and stands in line for his burgers, but he hires someone to wipe his bum with adorable kittens. There's always a fresh pile of kittens on the wait, I hear.

When you retire, your dream is to chow down on a greasy dick in the middle of the night?

Well I suppose some dreams are bigger than others, but just maybe aim a little bit higher?

Pretty cool...He could get it delivered, but I guess he's just like anyone else. Its not fun to stay cooped in your house (mansion, in his case). You want to get out and do things...See people.

Almost as much as that other Seattleism : Taking a ride on the SLUT (South Lake Union Trolley) to go grab a Greasy Dick.

I had one that the GF always hated and she smartly asked if she could use a T-Shirt to wash the car when she knew I wasn't paying attention to which one. C'est-Le-Vie...

I will say though that Dick’s is a quintessential burger joint, and also a great story in terms of providing something back to their employees. Got to sit down with the founder a few years back, and I liked him.

To paint a clear picture, this neighborhood, Wallingford, is on par with Van Nuys or Echo Park in Los Angeles. It's about 10 blocks from the University of Washington Campus and the clientele is a combination of high school & college students, a smattering of drug dealers, and that areas healthy homeless population. It's just a rather odd place to find one the the worlds wealthiest human beings at 12:30 am (munchies ) waiting in line for a mediocre burger & fries. There is a nicer Dicks over on lower Queen Anne about a mile from his Foundation headquarters. This particular Dicks is not on his way home (opposite direction) and as a former Seattle resident who grew up not too far from that location, he clearly knows what type of area it is. 3 weeks ago the cops had an armed standoff with a drugged out weirdo just a block from there. I just think it's kinda cool that he'd turn up at that spot in the middle of the night (Munchies ).

It's near where he grew up, and it is the original Dick's. A lot of people, including myself, would prefer to go to that one for its kitchy significance.

Ok. I give up. Does anybody know where a now officially old man goes to turn in his "coolness" card? Usually when I come across new slang, I'll be reminded that I've at least heard it someplace else before, but now I'm coming across terms I know I've never crossed paths with. Swass? I seriously had to look that up. The 1st thing that popped up in the Urban Dictionary was "Sweaty Arse",but that didn't seem to fit the context of the sentence, so I investigated furthur. I'm officially on the other side of the generational divide.

Just to be clear, Swass is basically "Rad" , "Gnarly", or "Da Bomb" right?

(On that note, a few years back I was partying with some college kids and everything was "Bomb" this and "Bomb" that. Thought I'd try to be cool and responded once "Yeah, it was Nuclear!". Dead silence. Getting old sucks! )

So I'm not only old, but clearly also musically clueless. I'd never listened to that entire song before now. i just knew the refrain "Posses on Broadway" from having heard it over the years. As furthur attestment to my musical cluelessness, I didn't even know Sir-Mix-Alot was a Seattle artist! But after listening to that song all the way through for the 1st time, it's as clear as day that he's a Seattle boy and it was funny to see that Dicks Drive-In up on Capitol Hill in the video (Which by the way is actually on Broadway )
