The goal of shoes in basketball is not to be comfy but to protect your feet and ankles. There is so much sudden stopping, jumping, accelereting etc in basketball more than any other sport that you really need good shoes.

I get wanting to start a new shoe brand but testing it out yourself is really dumb. In the middle ages there were food testers and really there should be shoe testers or just wear brands that everyone else wears that are known to be safe.

His shoes could be bad, but the problem starts with his own body. He has weak hips and glutes just like Steph did when he entered the NBA. And FWIW, Steph had all his ankle spraining years in Nikes. He's gotta fix his body or he's gonna end up a yearly offseason surgery case.

Studies have shown that ankle strengthening and taping the ankles offer as much or more protection against sprains than any shoes. I have no idea what Lonzo does in that regard, but if he's not strengthening his ankles daily, and taping both before each game, then he's gonna have to start all that now.

The defender got his toes under Lonzos foot. Even Kobe suffered a sprained ankle due to a defender getting his foot underneath Kobe’s.

Curry is ridiculously strong in the glutes area. There was someone close to him saying he's like 10 times stronger than people think he is.

And yeah, Lonzo has to work his ass off in the gym come off season time.

The defender had nothing to do with it. Lonzo rolled it before contact was made and not only was the defender's foot was in front of Lonzo's, the defender's foot landed AFTER Lonzo's

Did you see how hard he sprained his ankle? If you sprain like that, you sprain, there's nothing to do.

In general, shoes will only provide you more or less stability for those who have previous serious injuries and thus their ankles are more unstable, but if you step like that or on someone's foot, you're gonna sprain it, there's no way around it.

I watch that video and see the complete opposite. Ennis undercuts Zo straight into his legs causing him to roll his ankle.

Exactly this has nothing to do with the shoes, it's a classic rolling of the ankle over another player's shoes. A typical basketball injury which happens all the time, if fans don't know this, it means they've never played basketball. People are just insane with these posts. I so agree it's frustrating to watch all of these injuries to our players, but it happens to all teams. The thing is to keep the team withing striking distance and let LeBron and Rondo come in and get us in the playoffs.

He still handled it better than wheelchair Paul Pierce.
Lonzo rolled the hell out of his ankle and that doesn’t matter what shoes you wear if you roll like that.

It’s time for him to make the switch to Saucony. No NBA player in history has turned an ankle wearing Saucony so it must be good!

I doubt it's the shoes. He hurt the ankle twice this year so his ligaments are probably prone to ankle sprains. His shoes have actually been tested and are known as pretty good performance shoes. Jamal Crawford was a BrandBlack athlete and it was essentially the same silhouette that Lonzo's ZO2's were made from last year.

Lonzo seems to have a slight case of the bowl-legs. Has anybody notice this? If you watch Lavar in those videos of him goofing on the court, walking, etc., you can see he is bowl-legged.

It is not noticeable in Lonzo, unless you look for it. If I'm correct that he does have a slight case of it, does this condition make you more prone to roll your ankles, especially inwards?

Trying to google if people talk about this, and the only thing I found was a comment section where someone said "Lavar is Bowl-legged AF." LOL!

This is a dumb thread, just intended to be passive aggressive about Lonzo, since he has been playing better, lets rip on his shoes or his dad.
Next people will be going after his stroke addled mom.
SMH.
