What’s the story behind McGee and Luke beefing?

Read somewhere that McGee called Luke out in some interview and that’s why he lost his starting job?

He lost his starting job because he cane back from pneumonia playing like (bleep) and hasn’t exactly lit it up off the bench either. He’s taking dumb shots to try and get his becusse bron and rondo went there to force feed him easy buckets. His timing on defense in the paint has been way off and his rebounding has left A LOT to be desired.

Don't think there is a beef - what you are referring to was an interview after a loss where McGee said we didn't adjust fast enough (forget what game). McGee's answer showed some good bball iq, though made many wonder why Luke DIDN'T make adjustments...

I still think Luke is a good culture guy, but he needs to get better assistants to cater for his weaknesses, as he doesn't appear to be a good x's and o's guy. Great leaders surround themselves with great people. I can't tell if Luke just likes to hang out with friends as his assistants or he is insecure to get some better guys for fear they will replace him.

As bad as Mike Brown was, I will give it up that that dude hired some good assistants.

In early November my daughter had pneumonia that she wasn't hospitalized for. She missed three weeks of work, and when she went back she was still weak and coughing for the next month or so. She doesn't have asthma, so when I compare that to what McGee went through recently, I have to give him some slack. His blocked shots are way down, and he is a step slow. It's easy to figure that he's on the court so he should be effective, but life doesn't always work like that.

not a big fan of McGee's game. there's a reason why he's a career journeyman backup center even with that size, length and athleticism.
