If we actually see things in retrospect this win should be expected.
If you thought we were gonna lose the rest of the games with LeBron playing and Luke coaching for his job then this would help you understand more about the situation...
Of course it would have been nice to go 31-51 but the reality is that it just wasn’t gonna happen and the only way it did is if we had a interim coach like Shaw coaching this team and he was playing a bunch of G-League guys... so don’t be upset guys. |

I also enjoy tanking for a better pick. But if it doesn’t happen and we get a win, what’s there to complain about? |

Idiotic organization. We clearly were the better team after 3 quarters, what else is there to prove. Sit Lebrons ass down in the 4th and lose, it’s that simple. Winning tonight was extremely detrimental to our lottery chances. |

season is over, fire Luke already and put a real tank commander in charge. Luke couldnt care less about the Lakers getting a better pick as he knows he wont be coaching this team next year. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

Lebron won't sit. He cares more about his all-time scoring points and milestones over the long-term benefit to the team. _________________ “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other. He had to bring them home to have them together.” – Vanessa Bryant |

It’s not up to Lebron. This decision should come down from Magic. Of course Lebron is going to want to play, he’s Lebron James. Front office incompetence all around. |

No way were we gonna lose out through rest of year. Relax plenty of losses on the way. Even if we lost out best we could hope for was 7th worst ...
We would need luck to move up regardless ... |

I’m perfectly fine getting the 9th or 8th spot, like I said Hopefully the league rewards us for not tanking on purpose, the Cavs got the #1 pick a couple of years ago with like a 1% chance so anything can happen. |

6th was gonna be super hard to get.
Dallas had an unexpected victory at Golden State but for the most part, have been matching us loss for loss.
Look I'm following tankathon and rooting for the key wins from our "competitors" ... but let's be realistic ... no one is closing out the season with straight losses. |

This article says we can still end up with the 6th best lottery odds even with the win yesterday. |
Of course we can it's just gonna be tough to do ...
We have a tough regular season schedule to close (yeah!)
But just like team trailing the last playoff spot that is not only 4 games out with 10 to play but also has 4 teams they need to leapfrog.
I hope we can, but I'm actually just rooting for some good luck I wouldnt mind Morant or Barrett tbh but getting Zion would be such a huge boon whether we kept him or not ... |

From your liked article ...
As it stands, the Lakers are three games back in the losses column from being the sixth-worst team in the league, a title currently being held by both the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks. While it’s not mathematically impossible for them to finish with a bottom-five record, it would require the Atlanta Hawks going on an eight-game winning streak and the Lakers losing all but one game for the rest of the season.
We only have two non playoff teams left Washington and Nola
and we can easily lose to both or sweep.
I thought 7th was a good target and very doable especially if we lose to Nola and Wash ... |

a loss tonight would be very helpful.....cause it is also a Wizards win which would get us back to a game within them.
Also, need the Pels to beat the Hawks and the Mavs to beat the Kings. |

I had no idea the 1, 2, and 3 spots each had a 14% chance of landing the number 1 spot. I really like that rule change. If Lakers can get into that 6 spot and have a 9% chance at Zion, that would be MASSIVE.
Now I see why everyone is so agro over a loss
I just assumed the Knicks or the Suns were gonna land that number 1. Zion is a real possibility if we get to 6. What the hell are we doing playing LeBron still?
If we shutdown LeBron we lose the remaining 8 games or so easily, and most likely sneak into that 6 spot. The other teams just ahead of us have a pretty tame schedule _________________ He's my GOAT |

its not really the number 1 odds I think that are in play its the odds of getting into the top 4. No matter what #1 overall is a complete crapshoot. But atleast falling to atleast #8 jumps our odds of a top 4 pick from roughly 1 in 7 odds to 1 in 3 odds _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

Pelicans G Holiday has season-ending surgery
Quote: |
NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Pelicans say guard Jrue Holiday has had surgery to repair a core muscle injury and won't play again this season.
The Pelicans say Holiday had the procedure done in Philadelphia on Tuesday by Dr. William Meyers, who is known as a sports hernia specialist.
The club says the typical timetable for recovery is about six weeks, which would take Holiday beyond the end of the regular season.
Holiday already has missed the past eight games with a strained abdomen. The Pelicans are eliminated from playoff contention.
This season has been among Holiday's best. The 10-year veteran averaged career highs of 21.2 points and five rebounds per game, tied his career high for steals per game with 1.6 and had his third-highest assist average at 7.7.
