I hope Magic is taking notes, the loose-lipped FO has caused this mess.

The one that sticks out to me was when he tried to attack a double team when his teammate was trying to put his shoe on. Instant turnover.

You saw how McGee became disengaged when his playtime diminished right? It seems unless he has a big role he does have a tendency to disengage from the game.

I am not surprised he blew up at Walton.

The sad thing is, Beasley is probably the most efficient at iso's among them.

Luke is going to need to punish and take away their minutes for next game and give the other players an opportunity to shine in their minutes.

Is Brian Shaw “Mike Pence-ing” (ie waiting for his boss to be chopped)?

Do gooder.

It's because there's no substance. He's just a philosophy coach like Byron, except Byron was a wannabe drill sergeant while Luke is a wannabe hippie.

Neither of them are very good development or Xs and Os coaches.

Yeah, I agree. Just pointing it out he seems to say the same thing all the time. Run run run or more unselfish.

Yeah, he didn't come here to play 15 minutes in a 3 man rotation. He came here to play 30+ minutes and prove to the league he's not restricted by asthma.

As uncertainty surrounds Lakers into deadline week, several veterans -- including Michael Beasley -- had an emotionally-charged verbal exchange with head coach Luke Walton postgame tonight, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium. It stopped short of turning physical.

Quote:
Veterans, including Beasley, JaVale McGee and Lance Stephenson, challenged Walton in postgame locker room, sources said. Those involved were separated before anything escalated.

Quote:
In postgame locker room, Luke Walton preached to players on playing unselfishly, sources said, when several veteran players snapped back. As one source described it, “Heated scene.”

Quote:
The veteran players raised their voice on topics of Walton’s playing time distribution and rotations, sources said. Hope afterward among players and coaches was that this helped cleanse issues within the team.

What did they expect, they aren’t important parts of this team. Should have signed with Phoenix to get their worthless minutes.

Lance has gotten a lot of undeserved minutes, I don't know what his issue is. Javales production has also dipped significantly, so the only one I see with a fair argument is Beasley in terms of minutes distribution.

Rondo was too busy watching film, probably showing BI some stuff. Instead of casting blame minutes after a hard fought game.

Rondo is a great leader and a keeper on this team..I like beas but if he creates drama he is a goner along with Lance...We dont need stuff like that on this team.

There’s been no drama up to this boiling point. Look at the standings. These vets want a crack at the playoffs again.

According to shams it was about playing time and minute distribution...So no it's not really about making the playoffs.

Beas played 8 min and Mcgee 11..Lance played the most out of them with 24 min.

Something like this might galvanize the team, air out all of the (bleep) in your head instead of keeping it in and it boiling over.

Both sides are at fault to be honest, so called veterans playing like headless chickens and a head coach who is clueless at a lot of things.

It isn’t Kerr’s system, Rondo pounding the ball for 20 seconds isn’t something we see from GS. It does look like prime Magic.

What is our system? Anyone? In the past 3 years what has Luke built in terms of structure? Player development? Or is he just Jeanie’s pool boy?

Javale started playing selfish since Tyson got traded to us. Took minutes away from McGee and tanked his value. He's playing for a contract next season

Then Zu started playing well and McGee ... he needs the stats

It started once Zu started getting minutes. There is really no need for him to be playing when we have McGee and Tyson. I get that the guy has been playing better recently, but he still isn't as good as either of them and I doubt he would get pissed if they put him back on the bench. He should only be playing if either of these guys goes down with an injury.

Don't think it had to do with them signing Tyson, as Mcgee can't play that many minutes anyway due to his asthma.

And I'm not sure why Beasley doesn't get more minutes. Isn't he supposed to be Lebron's backup? The guy shoots 50% from the field while guys like Hart stay out there bricking 3s.

In this situation, Luke is definitely right. As much hate as he gets, he had the balls to tell players how it is. Good coaching. They don't like it, too bad. Next guy up.

There is no system. The only time I ever see actual plays being ran are out of timeouts. Rondo alluded to the team having no plays and instead freewheeling everything.

Rondo has an actual system, which is why we do so much better with him off the floor. When he's not on the floor we default to Luke's system, which is Kerr's system. Which is "we'll have a small dude guard giants. Draymon- I mean Kuzma, in you go." And "keep passing the ball until it hits someone who feels like taking a shot"
