Lol at great move.

Expiring contract. Probably won't be around next season. At least we get some outside shooting.

Low cap hold.

Perfect type of catch/shoot guy.

really solid this year.

Could be someone we keep actually for a low salary.

my assumption is some third rate team bids more on Bullocks than what we're willing to pay in the offseason, making this a 3 month rental for us.

I really liked Svi and his gym-rat game. I was hoping he'd be a good under-the-radar player to keep long-term while he continued to develop. Hope he stays healthy and continues to grow and thrive in the league.

That being said, THIS is the kind of deal we needed to be making more of. Shore up our weaknesses in incremental moves, adding guys who can play with LBJ AND the other guys, getting someone who may be a last-year contact but still relatively young and hungry - without taking a freaking chainsaw to the overall roster and team morale.

Agreed. We have several expiring contracts, and all our draft picks. We can probably afford to trade another prospect. But otherwise, we really need to get our current core to make a playoff push, then see how they perform in the playoffs.

Tatum and Brown on the Celtics are highly regarded because of how they performed in the playoffs. Then, if we feel a need to trade the entire team this summer, we will hopefully have one young core player who has proven themselves in the playoffs as an asset.

I've lost track of players who were supposedly great shooters or "3 and D" guys who come here and immediately lose the ability to shoot.

I think I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that his 3 point shooting percentage here is higher than Svi's was.

That was my main misgiving about him around draft time - but I LOVE how much of a gym-rat and scrapper he is.

Doesn't just stand and hold the ball.
Drives to probe the defense, even if he doesn't have the quickest step, just to force the defender to use up energy and concentrate.
Willing and ready to set and USE screens, which a lot of guys refuse to do.
Always looking for the ball on D, while making sure to keep steady tabs on his man.

If his shot had fallen more consistently (and he's a shooter who needs minutes, if not necessarily constant touches), we wouldn't have needed to trade HIM for Bullock, but really we just traded Svi for a more developed and longer (6-7 with 6-10 span) 3&D player.

Thanks for the hard work, Svi. Hope the kid does well and has a good, rewarding career.

He’s a pure shooter, that’s the simple analysis on him, if our Gs give him open looks he’s gonna be a significant addition.

No Reggie B tomorrow

Sounds like the timing is going to be too tight for Reggie Bullock to be available to play tomorrow in Boston. I’m told he’ll most likely make his Lakers debut in Philadelphia.

Great fit next to James as a catch and shoot guy who can play a little defense too. I think he's going to get a lot of great looks. Fits a long term path with a low cap hold while still leaving room for a 7-9 year max (KD being the only 10+ guy in the market and looking very unlikely).

Shooting is the premium skill in the league and this dude is a legit shooter. Over his last five seasons he's shooting 41.2% from distance, shooting 38.8% this season at volume (6.7 3fga). For reference, Kuzma leads the Lakers in attempts at 6.0.

Will not watch any of Lakers games this year.

Good bye, guys

Look on the bright side. You can now attend games in Detroit because it’s dirt cheap there and they have zero attendance in their new arena. Maybe Svi will see your homemade sign in his native language and he’ll wave his T-Rex arms at you... 😜

He's from Ukraine.

I wouldn't recommend buying a plane ticket to spend a week in Detroit of all places in the US.

I'm sitting in Detroit right now (actually Grosse Pointe, but close enough). Detroit proper is rough as fk though. The freezing rain isnt helping much either.

Have already been right there in 2012.
And i need to say, that Detroit is 1000x better then Ukraine
A lot of our people are worse 1xbet-ng.app than the local groups from the suburbs of Detroit.

Anyway, thats no reason anymore to wake up at 4-5 a.m. to watch live Lakers games. But i will always support my favourite team

Sorry about Svi being traded. But keep your Lakers fandom strong! Cheers.
