5 out of 7 seasons with less than 70 games... Looks like this one will be only 45.
Solution?
Trade 7 to 10 assets to acquire said player and go 2 on 4 vs. GSW or Philly.
If that sounds like a winning plan... well, I don't know what to say. |
I was looking for the Dell Demps thread. Did I stumble upon the Brandon Ingram/Kyle Kuzma/Lonzo Ball thread? |
Wait so if someone correlates his firing with positive news for a trade it's okay... But if someone tries to say something negative about a potential trade then it's not? |

What a joke. Good luck finding a job in the league after the failed AD trade and all the drama that went along with it

Looks like they’ll be hiring another one of Pop’s puppet if they go with Danny Ferry based on the reports. _________________ Tacos |

The karma gods smiled on the Lakers when Demps didn't agree to gut the Lakers in exchange for a great skills player with no heart or fire in his belly.
Don't get me wrong, AD is a tremendous talent...but he clearly is not an Alpha Dog... and Lakers need an Alpha Dog to lead the team after LeBron departs in a few years.
Now... the Lakers are in an even better situation to low ball the Pelicans this summer because NO TEAM will gut all their talent for a potential one year rental of AD......leaving the Lakers offering two (Ingram and Hart) of their core, a couple of veterans, draft picks and possibly taking back a bad contract. _________________ A three headed monster... Not sure if this helps Lakers one bit. But the Pels can always take a lesser deal from Celtics or another team. Lesser deal is still a win in those owners eyes than getting fair deal from the evil Lakers. I know it’s stupid but that’s how it is nowadays. If the Lakers don’t offer the farm this summer, then it’ll be even easier for the Pelicans to take the lesser deal from another team and sell their fan base they stand firm against Lakers’ “lowball” offer. |

Why does AD getting injured make the owner mad at demps tho |
Simple, if the injury is serious or require surgery, it could lower AD's value... |
Simple, they just got Rich Pauled. The plan is now in motion like a speeding locomotive! |

I'm surprised Woj's tweet didn't go something like
Quote: | The NO Pelicans have relieved Dell Demps of his position as GM, which is somehow bad for the Lakers (I haven't figured out how yet) |

This is just a pissed off ownership group taking their frustrations out on the lame duck whipping boy, which happens to be Dell Demps in this situation. |
So they basically held a gun to his head and told him to ignore Magic or talk just long enough to order a takeout pizza like Ramona reported and then when he did everything that he was told they fired him anyway? Talk about a catch 22! |

I hate to recognize David Stern but he was prophetic only a few months ago.
Wow.
David Stern: Pelicans GM Dell Demps a 'lousy general manager'
"We are very disappointed to read the inappropriate and inaccurate comments from the former NBA Commissioner regarding the New Orleans Pelicans," the club said in a statement. "Our organization has the utmost confidence in our General Manager, Dell Demps. He is a part of our family, the NBA family. We are excited about the direction of our team, the 3-0 start to the season, building on the success of the 2017/18 playoffs."

I don't know who is a worst GM,
Demps for declining practically the whole Laker roster or Magic for offering it. |

Quote: | MRI on Anthony Davis’ shoulder showed a muscle contusion but “nothing too bad”, according to a source close to Davis. He’ll head to Charlotte, get treatment over next few days & see how he feels before deciding whether he can play Sunday |
https://twitter.com/ramonashelburne/status/1096282885856813057?s=21
Quote: | Davis was diagnosed with a muscle contusion in his left shoulder after undergoing an MRI following Thursday's 131-122 win over the Thunder, Sam Amick of The Athletic reports.
Davis supplied 14 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four boards, two assists, one steal and one block in 16 minutes before departing with the injury. While Davis appears to have avoided a significant setback, the injury may provide convenient cover for the Pelicans to hold him out for additional contests as they look to preserve the big man's health ahead of a potential trade this summer. Davis is still expected to attend this weekend's All-Star Game and receive further evaluation for the injury, but it's unclear if he'll be given the green light to play in the exhibition. If Davis does end up suiting up this weekend, the Pelicans might not be able to get away with holding their star out for their games following the break. |

Made me chuckle. It never made sense to me how SAS said he'd lose his job if he traded AD to the Lakers. If you had real sources, tell us what his instructions are from the owners. Like the dude is not going to do what owners want? Trade or no trade he was lame duck just like Walton, but i just think is funny how SAS can definitively say he would be fired if he traded AD to LA. Like dude are you stupid? He's going to do what owners tell him to do and he's going to be fired anyway because of his losing record there. |

We get it. You have an agenda.
Anyways, to get Davis we had to overpay. No one isn’t giving us Davis for Dipo & Sabonis or RoCo & Saric. |

I hope we lowball the next GM with Hart, Wagner, and a 1st just to (bleep) with them. Put it out publicly through Ramona the way NOP did using Woj and Turner. |
