Aaron Lewis covers the Tim McGraw song Whiskey and You. Chris Stapleton's version is also good but I think I like this the best.

Fear Inoculum by TOOL

Not the hugest tool fan, but I can definitely (bleep) with this. Danny Carey always offers a very interesting rhythmic concept. Mad props to that man.

My turn. Caught this gal on Paste Studio. Put the song on in the background as I scrolled through the Paste Studio articles, and, wait a minute . . . this gal is goood. It was her unique voice that first caught my attention. Then came the emotion and power of her voice that only made her words come to life. She is delightful as a person as well. After her first song, out came her producer. Oh, what a treat. One of my favorites. Piqued your interest? Gonna have to watch to find out who is this famous, though not by the masses, producer.

Aaron did a great job with that, but it is hard for me to give anyone the nod over Stapleton......Chris Stapleton's voice/talent is just special.

Now there's something you and I are 100% in agreement.

Stapleton is definitely amazing. Not sure if people realize how much he has written for other artists.

And after having seen him live, he's a really great guitarist as well.

My contribution going into the weekend is a cool cover of an early '80's New Wave hit that has been updated so perfectly for our current political climate:

LCD Soundsystem - (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang

And to wind down for the night, definitely not a JAM, but a very chill and lovely piece of music:

Phil Cook - If I Had a Needle and Thread

Some current favorites..

Walk Upon the Water by The Move

Tasty slice of 60s psych pop. Great melodies all throughout.

Far, Far Away by King's X

This song made me fall head over heels for this band.

Tracy Jacks by Blur

(bleep) awesome song and band. Love the bass line. Reminds me of XTC (which is good).

Ride My See Saw by The Moody Blues

Keeping with the theme of excellent bass work, check out that lick @ 0:33, makes you want to start driving and pile up those speeding tickets.

Wild Dogs by Tommy Bolin

A nice gem from one of the greatest guitarists to ever live. The solo he drops on the outro is pure magic.

I really dig Chris Stapleton. However, when I saw him at the Forum, I was a little disappointed. Not because he wasn't great. He was. But if you're going to be in a bigger venue, I think you need more production value. I know that's not his bag really, but he should get a producer who can straddle the line between staying true to CS's style and giving the audience a bigger show. He did an A+ show for a smaller theater.

That's a very fair critique.

For those who are country fans (at least the Chris Stapleton kind), and you're not familiar with the Turnpike Troubadours... check them out. They're one of my favorite band of the last 10 years.

Here's some kick ass rock from Brandi Carlisle:

"Mainstream Kid

And for some quirky fun, he's a cool number with a ton of flavor to savor with tastes of funk, jazz, power ballad, jam band and more:

Twiddle - "Orlando's"
