Golden State wants to dump his salary and Medvedenko and McKie match...we're giving up absolutely nothing and getting a solid fan favorite and clutch player in return. Get with it Mich. _________________ Burn the candle until #17! Chick Hearn lives. |

Well, if you're talking Pietrus + Fish, then that's a lot more interesting. I'd love to get Pietrus and then move Fish again to clear the cap room - though that might be tough.
No way GS would do that though. |

Yes actually GS is willing to give Pietrus to any team that takes Fishers contract because they really can't afford to resign Pietrus anyway and his contract is ending.
From realgm:
Quote: | It's now rumoured that, to avoid paying Mickael Pietrus, he's trying to give him to any team that will take the contract of Derek Fisher. |

First off, no - don't f*ck the 07 plan.
At least not for Derek Fisher.
You wanna scrap the plan, fine by me if you're bringing in the next big piece.
And Fish + Pietrus for Walton, Slava and McKie?
Other teams aren't just begging on their knees to take on our garbage.
No way in "f*ck" would the Warriors go for that trade.
Put the pipe down!

Not garbage, McKie is a filler, Walton is a guy with potential, Medvedenko is an expiring K, add some picks (maybe 2 2nd rounders and Miami's pick) I think theyd bite it, its not like there are many teams willing to take Fisher's k anyway, oh and just for the record, there is no cap plan, Mitch says that to keep his job. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

I don't know how true that is, but I would bet that GS would look really hard to trade dunleavy and then re-sign Pietrus before they entertained giving Pietrus away to a division rival. Especially the way Pietrus has been playing since he took dunleavy's job away. |

Walton's a guy with potential? Yeah, to get 10-20% better over the rest
of his career.
I'm not exactly BREAKING NEWS here that Walton's not a valuable trade chip.
Slava = cap room.
McKie = cap room.
(look at McKie's numbers from last season and tell me he's worth spit to
most teams out there).
Sorry bro, there's just no way they do it.
I don't doubt what you said, that they'll move Pietrus if it lets them ship
Fish out. The bottom line is they can get much better for Fish/Pietrus
than what you're saying we should offer up.
And the cap-plan does exist, it's just a matter of whether they stick with
it until it comes to fruition. Will they? My guess is no.
But as much as I love D-Fish, he ain't worth taking up that much room
when there are so many better players out there we could add by two
summer from now with a little patience. |

All right, my trade was bad and Fish is prolly a bad fit, but Mitch needs to get a veteran guard, he knows that, Phil has said that and he sits there doing nothing, thats why Im pissed, sorry for saying crap.
I really think Slava's K + a secound rounder could get us a veteran guard who can shoot, and Mitch doesnt see it....
As for the cap plan, I still have my doubts about it, specially with Amare and Yao inked, maybe Dirk but hes never leaving Cuban, so I stay indiferent to this plan as long as it does not end up hurting us. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Yeah, because what this team needs is an overpaid PG that can't play any defense... Perfect!

I'll agree with you on Slava's K.
I see it this way.
Our draft pick this coming summer (Miami's 1st) isn't worth much to us
because 1.) it's a shallow draft, too late in the round to get a reliable
prospect, and 2.) we don't want to take on the additional salary even
though a late-1st rookie wouldn't command that much (in theory we're
already tight on the 07/08 plan).
So to me, I'd have been shopping Slava's K and/or DG's K along with
this summer's Miami's-1st for a starting PG or PF.
The likelihood is, since bigs are valued more, that you end up finding a
PG with that - and ideally add our next big piece (whether via LO-trade or
adding that piece to LO/Kobe) as a PF.
I'm in favor of bringing in a vet PG to start. But I'll admit, ideally I'd like
a "vet" PG to be a guy who's 28ish years old, where if he turns out to be
a great fit - we can keep him on as a part of the big picture without
wondering about a decline. |

D-fish isn't going to launch the Lakers to contendor status. Plus his price tag is way too high. I would love to have Fish but not for that amount of money. |

Yeah, the hard part is to find a nice PG, they are either too young or in their rookie K's, you dont have many guys around that age. The ones I have on the top of my mind are guys like Keyon Dooling, Carlos Arroyo, who are poor shooters.
Some guys that would be ideal are Eddie House, Leandro Barbosa and Delonte West, but they are part of their teams future, therefore they arent moving - maybe House. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com
