Most 30 point, 10 assist games by a Rookie:

Stephen Curry 5
Michael Jordan 5
Trae Young 3
Lebron James 3

Over the Hawks last five games, Trae Young is averaging:
34.8 points,
10.4 assists,
4.4 rebounds,
4.6 made 3-pointers,
while shooting 47% from the floor, 49% from downtown and 92% from the FT line.

Those are insane numbers.

Good for the Mavs and Hawks. They both got the rookies they wanted, and it's paying off for them.

Dunn was trying bully Trae and Trae responded really well and I actually loved it as a competitor, you want to see this kind of things. By just staring at Dunn for like 2 seconds and get ejected? Really??? What a dumb ref.

and the Hawks will get another lottery pick from the Mavs this year if outside the Top 5. Hawks are in a really good place to be good in a couple years if they catch a few breaks.

Happy for Trae, that Atlanta team is a great model on building through the draft. I hope they get Zion.

I agree. They knew they were not a destination team for FA's, and played it near perfectly. If they get Zion, they are likely a playoff team within 2 years? Even without him, they will be knocking on the postseason door within 2-4 years in my opinion.

Stephen A and Max thought he needed another year of college, but Trae defended himself quite well in an interview. Good to see that he’s proving them wrong on the court as well.

This marks the first time the name "Trae" and the phrase "defended quite well" have been used in a sentence. Well done.

you guys gotta stop criticizing short players for not defending because none of it is really their fault. there is literally no short good 3pt shooter that escapes this criticism. secondly, the criticism is wrong because the rules and era and refs completely prevent good d being played on small guys. the refs are in complete chaos about the calls they make. there is literally NOTHING a player can do, 100% at mercy of ref calls. there are ZERO short guys playing good d.

this is the typical laker fan attitude the last few years. anytime someone starts becoming a good scorer (especially if they are short, but even then) immediately someone will say he sucks at D. well guess who is good at D, lonzo. lol. only guys who SUCK at scoring are said to be good at D. its the fans' expectations that are wonky, not the actual play of the athlete.

I’m happy to see him doing good in his 1st year, he was getting unfaired criticism during the draft and is gonna be a stud for many years to come.

Literally every single post you make on any thread is pushing the same narrative. I admire the consistency in a weird way but I strongly disagree.

John Collins is stud as well. They will have 2 lotto picks this season. Imagine if they land 1st and 2nd pick. Draft Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett

That would be amazing core.

I thought he was going to be a bust after watching pre-season, but obviously the kid is very skilled and is figuring it out. Good for him, but I wonder if his size will always make him too much of a defensive liability in the NBA?

Low field goal percentage (40.8% overall, 33.0% from three) on the season, but that will probably improve.
