mind boggling.

So lets see....was it a problem when her father was running around with barely legal girls who were like 1/3rd his age? And what about the wealthiest CEO in the world who went around sending dick pics to his mistress while cheating on his wife? Not a problem, right? And wasn't Prokhorov busted in France for having a bunch of hookers in his room? And wait, wasn't the CEO of Broadcom, Nicholas Henry, busted for a bunch of drug charges revolving around his sex cave/dungeon? Oh, and wait for it.....don't we have a POTUS who was the CEO of a billion dollar organization who has been paying hookers on the side while he was married? Yeah.

We live in a society that has monetized female beauty but you think we ought to shame her for having taken advantage of that? If I really dug I could find all sorts of ridiculous public behavior by male CEOs, from the merely poor judgement kinds, to, you know, pure evil, destroying the world kind of stuff. But a beautiful woman that took some artistic nudes I'm supposed to disrespect? Get back to us when you find those Jeanie hard core porn vids or something, but until then this is just a weak attempt at slut shaming. There's enough tangible stuff to knock Jeanie on in terms of her job performance, you don't need to take these kinds of shots....

Sorry, but I agree with the OP here.

Look, I love beautiful women and Jeannie's pics in playboy were those of a beautiful woman in her prime.

But to use it as your Twitter picture when you are the owner of the premier franchise in the NBA?

It isn't that she doesn't have the "right" to use whatever photo she wants, but it does show very questionable judgement in my opinion considering her position.

I won't even get into the fact that photo is probably 25 years old, that is simply a vanity thing.

But wouldn't she be better off in a photo with a stylish professional look considering she is owner and CEO of the Los Angeles Lakers?

It’s like those 60 year olds who put a photo from their 30’s on dating websites.

Jeff Bezos is the founder and CEO of Amazon. He built that company from scratch. It wasn't handed down to him through a rich father. That comparison is laughable. He obviously showed poor judgement in his personal life, but, can you claim he's not qualified professionally? Nichlas Henry is a co-founder of Broadcom. If he committed a crime, it doesn't take away from his accomplishments. They can have a lousy personal life, but, no one can question their competency in creating and managing billion dollar companies. Jeannie Buss has shown nothing .... POTUS inherited 200M from his father, which is why most people don't put him in the same category of those CEOs you quoted before.

oh, and when Jeannie Buss delivers success, and clearly being a lottery team for many years prove she hasn't , then she can certainly date 18 year olds, text nude pictures of herself, visit as many massage parlors as she wishes and smoke as much pot as she can.

This is such a bad analysis on multiple levels. First, what does it matter if you started a company or inherited it? Where you are now is all that matters. Second, you talk like Jeanie has been sitting on a couch for 30 plus years doing nothing. Her dad put her through business school to run operations, and she knows the ins and outs of the Lakers business more than anybody else on the planet. Third, she is not, and never was a basketball guru, nor does she try to be, so it doesn't make sense to judge her based on our basketball success, but more so on our value in building and maintaining the Lakers business interests. Obviously it's her job to delegate and put the best people in charge of improving the team, and the first step was getting rid of a failing FO that was taking us nowhere. That's a good ownership decision. The jury is still out on Magic and Rob, but they are both great hires for their respective roles. I'm willing to give them more than 2 years to judge not only Magic and Rob, but Jeanie's decision in hiring them.

What makes Magic and Pelinka great hires for their respective roles?

Cindy Crawford recently came out and said she wished she had done a nude spread for Playboy when she was younger. I think society in general is more harsh on women when it comes to body shaming and some women need that reminder of what they used to look like. But I don't think it needs to be presented to the world on her twitter page. Those pictures aren't hard to find if anyone were interested in seeing them.

Magic brings the charisma and credibility to attract talent, and Rob is the CBA guru with two decades in the basketball business.

Give me 10 examples of lightning in a bottle 0-100m startups, and I'll give you 1000 crash and burn wantrepreneurs who failed in 6 months. Give me 10 more examples of incompetent CEOs who inherited solid growing companies and destroyed them, and I'll give you 10 more examples of hopeless business that were invigorated by new, talented leadership.

What's the point? It doesn't matter how you start, it matters how you finish.

There already was a Playboy pictorial w/ Cindy back in the day. Black and white and fairly bland. Maybe she meant a color pictorial with centerfold. This is a tangent, but I'd prefer to see one of her now as opposed to what she probably considers her prime, which is back when she was at her thinnest. Supermodels of that thinness like Kate Moss and Cindy to a lesser extent were able to do nudes that was considered art whereas regular women doing the same was usually considered porn. Something about the thin body eliminates both male and female viewers' ability to objectify them by the appearance of their parts -- because their parts aren't as "there" as those of a woman with a more developed figure. I think that phenomenon is why a woman who is A or smaller can go relatively unnoticed or stigmatized when she wears a T-shirt with no bra, whereas a woman who is D sized would be slut-shamed and/or objectified, but either way would not go unnoticed.

Lebron goes to a storied franchise, and back to the east. They trade their kids for AD. The league ratings go up again because Lebron returns east. Giannis takes the crown from Lebron, the Celtics never win a title.

We sign Durant this summer and fill out the rest of our roster intelligently.

Can't say I'd be mad if this happened.

Agreed.

She needs to step up and hire the right people to handle this organization.

Look at Ballmer.

He brought in the right people and the Clippers are in the playoffs.

Lakers brought in the wrong people and we are not.

The fact that her twitter bothers you says more about you than it says about her. I think you just don't like her. And you're finding different reasons to justify your dislike.
Where is the line? Playboy? Or sexy photos in general? Is it alright for past/current Lakers girls to become business leaders in the future? Should they be ashamed and hide their past beauty? What about actresses and other models who have been in nude scenes and photos? It's a slippery slope to tell women they can either embrace their sexuality OR be a business leader.

She created her twitter in '09. And it didn't bother Dr. Buss. So much so, he left her control when he died.

It’s like those 60 year olds who put a photo from their 30’s on dating websites.

Actually its not like that at all.

I've always thought Jeanie was a bit of a whacko, but so are a lot of NBA owners. From Dan Gilbert to James Dolan, the NBA isn't short of businesspeople who don't act in a businesslike way.

Jeanie uses a 25-year-old photo; her dad dated women 50 years younger than him.

These people aren't running an insurance company.

Actually, you misunderstood my post or maybe I wasn't clear enough about what I was trying to say.

If what was reported was true and she "thought about trading LeBron" because of some media hoopla then I would say that is bad judgement.

To me, if you are CEO of the Premier Franchise in the NBA, it would behoove you to conduct yourself accordingly. To me, even though she looks very sexy in that picture, it is completely unprofessional for someone in her position and I would feel the same way if it was Jim Buss in a Speedo all buffed out in his prime.

I admit, I am 53 years old and not a twitter guy, maybe twitter is different.

As far as hating her, I am not sure where you got that.

I have never met her, but certainly she seems like a decent person from what I have seen. But I think it is becoming more and more clear she is a bad owner, at least if the team having success on the court is your barometer.

LOL, that explains it....I work in the insurance field!

Think of me as one of the guys in the movie "Cedar Rapids" from a few years back.

mind boggling.

This is a mic drop moment

Really ? you still think this is a "mic drop moment" ?

I'm willing to give them more than 2 years to judge not only Magic and Rob, but Jeanie's decision in hiring them.

yeah, because a business degree from USC qualifies you to run the Lakers

A chemistry degree from USC qualified her dad to run it.

At times, I wonder if the front office are all brainless. Each is worse than the other. Magic. Palenka. And Jeanie.

lol at the notion of lebron being anywhere near the greatest player ever

He is. The reason it's tough to admit for a lot is because he only has 1 season as a Laker. But we shouldn't forget everything he's done with Cleveland and Miami. Despite the fact that he isn't really a Laker guy, he's the greatest player ever. And we really should be appreciative of that.

This is my snarky response to that claim... MJ is the GOAT, Kobe is the lil-GOAT, and LeBron is a faux-GOAT.

This is my nice response to that claim... MJ > Wilt, Kareem > Kobe, LeBron > Magic, Bird > Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Russell.

I don't think the nude picture in and of itself is the issue. She's had that as her profile pic as long as she's been on Twitter and it never really caused an uproar. It's the fact that she is apparently totally incompetent at her job and the picture feeds into the stereotype of her being some clueless airhead who has no idea what she's doing.

If Phil indeed is Lakers PBO and team Klutch prob don’t wanna share power, I can see Phil trading LeBron for a triangle fit player, DeMar (ouch) but team Klutch prob wanna stay in LA and have LeBron re-routed to the Clippers... this can get really bad for us

Phil will never trade LeBron to the Clippers. But I wouldn't be surprised if he traded him to Boston for Taytum and Brown.

This is insane and will likely end in complete failure.

The people who hate on LeBron are a new breed...

I can't wait for the season to start so we can stop hearing the same people bash LeBron to prop up Kobe or Jeanie.
