Texas Rangers’ Elvis Andrus Is Using ‘Baby Shark’ As His Walk-Up Song

“If you don’t like it, you better get used to it, it’s not going away,” the shortstop said of his toddler’s favorite song.

Look, if such cruel and unusual punishment doesn't earn a suspension, there should at least be a hefty fine . . .

These are the kind of immigrants Trump should be targeting.

crap...we may have identified another home stadium that Sonny Gray can't throw strikes in. He just could not find the plate....2.2 innings....4 walks, hit a batter and had an error in the field.

every year, same thing....just too cold in the North to play baseball. I get adjusting to the elements, and both teams have to do it....but temps in the 30's simply is not baseball weather.

@ChickenStu......I am about to lose my mind with this team (Reds). Last season, we had to score 9 or 10 runs to have a chance each night because our pitching was going to give up that many. We lost more than we won, but we lit up the scoreboard most nights. This season, our pitching has been very solid, and we can't score a run.....literally a run! Scoreless in last 3 games....1-0, 2-0, and 2-0. (first time the Reds have been shut out 3 consecutive games since the turn of the century )

It is not like we are just hitting the ball hard to where they are at....we can barely make contact. The top and middle of the lineup look like Pedro Cerrano when they see a breaking ball.....even Joey Votto who does not strike out much appears to almost injure himself swinging way out in front of pitches. It is like Turner Ward broke this lineup!

Some batting averages 7 games in....

Jesse Winker - .053
Joey Votto - .200
Yasiel Puig - .125
Eugenio Suarez - .227
Matt Kemp - .063
Scott Schebler - .048

Finally, I am done with Kemp....dude is washed, and the Reds just need to waive him.....but David Bell keeps sticking him out there in left field. Dude has shown no signs of being able to hit the ball.....and he looks like he is 54 years old in the field instead of 34. Both runs scored against us tonight was because he was too slow getting to the ball. I saw earlier that the Dodgers have hit 21 HR's this year.....we have hit 2!

Just needed to vent!

Maybe Turner Ward was the problem for the Dodgers. They are off to a roaring start with the bats.

Seriously though, 3 shutouts in a row is just crazy.

Starting to get a little suspicious of Derek Dietrich of the Reds. Guy is 5'11" and 200 lbs. He has always had a solid build, but appeared really big/ripped when he arrived at spring training. This is his 7th Season, and the most Home Runs he has hit in a season was 16 last year with the Marlins in 500 at bats (1 per 31 at bats). This season, he comes off the bench, and has hit 3 home runs in 18 at bats (1 per 6 at bats)....and they are not just a couple rows into the bleachers. Yesterday, he crushed 2 HR's that landed in the river outside PNC Park. It is not really the # that has caught my attention, as that can easily regress to the mean.....but the distance for a guy his size.

Just hoping he can avoid a piss test.

HR #1 in River - https://twitter.com/Reds/status/1114952388530573312

Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis went 0-for-3 in his first three plate appearances against the Oakland A's on Monday night, extending his hitless streak to 47 consecutive at-bats. In doing so, he broke Eugenio Velez's record for the longest hitless streak by a position player in major league history, according to data from the Elias Sports Bureau.

Did anyone listen to the podcast last month that went over Game 6 of the 2011 World Series between the Cardinals and Rangers?

It was a solid listen and got me thinking how different the league would be today had that game went the other way.

maybe we have turned the corner....the bats came alive today when it finally topped 70 degrees. 14 runs.....Kemp, Suárez and Schebler went "back to back to back"! Even Jesse Winker hit a deep ball, and he came into the game with only one hit all year. Our other Dodger, Farmer also hit a HR. If Puig was not suspended, maybe all 3 of our recent Dodger acquisitions may have had a HR!

Also, Luis Castillo continued to just lock guys up.....ERA is now 0.92 through 3 starts. Hopefully he will continue his dominance in his next scheduled start against the Dodgers!

With Domingo Germán and CC Sabathia fortifying the Yankees' rotation, there is increasing sense Gio Gonzalez plans on opting out of his deal tomorrow, sources tell ESPN. The Yankees would have 48 hours to add him to their roster, and if they don't, he'll become a free agent.

CUBS WIN!

They have gone 11-4 after starting 1-6 (and 0-6 after the opening day win)!

Reds could bring up top prospect Senzel this week

Quote:
The Cincinnati Reds could bring up top prospect Nick Senzel before Friday's homestand opener against San Francisco, putting the 23-year-old outfielder in position to make his major league debut against the Giants.

Indians RHP Kluber hit by liner, fractures forearm

Quote:
Cleveland Indians right-hander Corey Kluber has a nondisplaced fracture of his right ulna after he was hit on the arm by a line drive off the bat of Miami Marlins outfielder Brian Anderson on Wednesday, the team said.

not good, I would assume his season is over?

Syndergaard with a True Win

Quote:
On Thursday afternoon, New York Mets righty Noah Syndergaard threw a 1-0 shutout of the Cincinnati Reds, the 1 coming on his own opposite-field home run.

Not as impressive when you realize how anemic the Reds offense has been this season....but help is on the way! Nick Senzel will make his debut tonight starting in CF and batting 2nd.

Pitcher skips MLB draft for Japan deal

Quote:
Nineteen-year-old pitcher Carter Stewart is in agreement with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League on a six-year contract worth more than $7 million, a groundbreaking deal that could have long-term ramifications for Major League Baseball's amateur and professional sides, sources told ESPN.

Quote:
By signing with Fukuoka, which has won four of the past five Japan Series, Stewart would guarantee himself significantly more money than he would have made with a major league organization -- and could theoretically join the major leagues as a 25-year-old free agent.

could be very interesting, or could end up being a one off that means very little.....

I could see this opening a new avenue for talented players that want to avoid the MLB farm system and getting paid.

I saw a couple items of trivia that would have been unthinkable when I was a kid.

Joey Gallo is the first player in major league history to hit 100 home runs before hitting 100 singles. As I write this, he has 103 home runs but is still looking for that elusive 100th single.

Mike Fiers now has two career no-hitters. He also has two career complete games.
