Prolific Payton joins short list of NBA greats

Quote:
New Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton joined an illustrious list of NBA greats on Monday by recording a triple-double in his fifth straight game.

Payton, a sixth-year NBA veteran, joined the likes of Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan to accomplish the feat, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Westbrook has done it four times, Robertson did it three times, and Chamberlain twice.

ironic part is the Orlando Magic literally gave him away on his rookie contract.....and have since been complaining about how they do not have a PG!?!? Reminds me of the Zubac trade....

problem guys like him have is "perception"....once you play on that minimum type contract, it is harder to get teams to pay you your market value in the future. His play this year (if he was healthy) probably should put him in MLE range....but I will be surprised if a team pays him that much.

If the Lakers are committed to Lonzo, I would love to try to get him to be a high quality backup.....but I doubt he has interest in being a backup to Lonzo.

Considering he and Lonzo each only play one season each, it'll work out perfectly. Well with our luck they'll get injured at the same time... abort abort
