Lue meeting with Lakers on Friday

Hmm

I don’t like the sound of Pelinka being the man behind the coach interviews.

Pelinka: how much of least season do you think was my fault?
Interviewee: uh.... None of your fault!
Pelinka: you're hired! Oh and uh....Offense, defense...you're gonna have those right?
Interviewee: sure! Do you have a preference for which?
Pelinka: uh...whatever the one is where we get the points.

I"m not sure.
I feel like Rob is a bit smarter than that.

I'm sure he is, the joking posts are getting out of hand.

I hope Monty/Ty have caught up on their Bible reading.

Rob: Tell me about Ephesians 2:8-9 and how that translates to winning games on the court?

Yeah, unfortunately if a new POB was gonna have a Im-print on our coaching hire, this throws that out the window. the Lakers obviously can’t seem to realize that it would have been better had we gotten a new basketball ops before trying to hire a new coach.

You’re assuming they plan on hiring someone.

If we could get Jerry West as a consultant I think our FO would be pretty decent.

Rob
Jerry
Jesse
Ryan
Joe
Monty/Lue

Now, get some solid assistant coaches and I think next year will be fine.

my only hope is that someone told Magic how dumb he looked and he has planted all the negative Jeannie and Rob stories and we really do have a competent owner and GM..... well I can hope at least

The media loves the Lakers, they are the biggest news in town even when Dr. Buss was around. People forget the days Magic and his HIV, of Kobe in Colorado, the problems with Shaq fighting with Kobe, Kobe wanting to be traded etc etc etc. It's always been like this even when they were winning championships. They are the team that gets the most attention in sports and everyone loves to create and spin stories. Most of them are not true and the ones that are were not that big of a deal. The Lakers don't need a president of operations, for years it was Dr. Buss and Jerry West, then Kupcake and Jimbo. Now its Jeanne and Pelinka, so what's the big deal?

Knowing that she independently hired both, would it surprise anyone if Jeanie hired Magic to help show Jim the door, and hired Rob to run the franchise?

Interesting hypothesis - using Magic as the fulcrum to marshall support from the siblings to oust Jim. I could actually see this really happening.

Other teams, successful organizations have a whole brain trust to bounce ideas off of before making decisions. We just have Rob Pelinka. This is seriously embarrassing. I can't believe how far we have fallen

Messina is just another one of those names that LG cannot let go of..lol
Messina is equal to Phil Jackson in popularity.

He is the "Marcus Smart" of coaches.

Ddin't Lue step away from the Cavs at one point due to stress of coaching and can't sleep? And the Lakers want him now?

Lol I don't agree. You forgot Jeanie, Linda, and Kurt/Phil (they are packaged). You ever heard of 1 bad apple ruins the bunch? That's what we have, 1 sitting at the way top.

I don’t know how good of a coach Messina actually is, but he’ll leave the Lakers origination with a set of balls tattooed on his forehead curtesy of Lebron.

Interviewee: Giveth the ball unto the self-proclaimed chosen one and get out of the way? Nothing we can do since it's out of our hands.

Coach Lue had chest pains and was coughing up blood. Not sure if he can take another season or two of this, his health would be a concern.

He's also gonna have a much bigger spotlight, much greater expectations and a far more energy conservative LeBron.
