Music to my ears:

He does remind me of a David Nwaba clone, I hope Jones is on the roster next year.

This is why I love the g-league. They'll scrap, hustle and play like there's no tomorrow. Mitchell was caught by surprise with his defense. He was like who the (bleep) is this dude?

Does he have a chance to be on the 15 man roster next year? If not, 2 Way?

His defense and rebounding are so good that he could potentially be more than that imo.

FYI:

*Lakers to sign G League's Jemerrio Jones to two year contract

Quote:
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Jones will be on the Lakers for the remainder of the season and the Lakers also have a team option to keep him for next season.

https://lebronwire.usatoday.com/2019/03/30/lakers-to-sign-g-leagues-jemerrio-jones-to-two-year-contract/

*Jemerrio Jones is grateful for his opportunity with the Lakers, even if he wishes it was longer

Quote:
The Lakers have also enjoyed having Jemerrio Jones on their team, as the undersized guard’s unorthodox game draws comparisons to Tony Allen and more.

Lakers’ Jemerrio Jones says ‘it’s the dog in me’ that dominates the glass
(Dude is hilarious!)

Quote:
“I got the bubble guts a little bit, but I was straight with it,” Jones said about learning he was starting against the Utah Jazz.
Along with the 16 rebounds, Jones had five points, five assists, two blocks, and a steal in 38 minutes on the floor.

Certainly a keeper on the 15 man list! With a chance of becoming a rotation guy. IMO teams need these scrappy hard working players, guys that fit in with the Bron's and Bi's of the NBA/lakers....

Tony Allen! That's drawing some high praise.

Still though, tuning in tonight to watch Jemerrio get his hustle on.

A tiny silver lining in an otherwise disappointing season this dude.

Jermerrio Jones became the first Los Angeles player in team history to grab at least 16 rebounds in his first NBA start.

Another gritty effort by JJ. 11 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks. Great hustle and defense again.

Liked this man when I was trying to catch some South Bay games early in the year. Now he’s making the most of his opportunities. Best bring him back. A guy that’s 6’5 averaging 15 boards in his 2 starts? Yes please, more of that. You can see he got some dog in him and we need that. I see a little in Ingram, the rest... not so much.
