Lakers FO is a backstabbing crew

Magic seems like a fake, backstabbing all-about-me-diva right now TBH. TBH, him doing this interview seems much worse to me than the interview Terry Rozier did a few days ago.

Magic bringing the hammer on the kingdom, Lakers sounds like a doo doo organization

The only doo doo is Magic...Unable to take charge...be President and handle conflict. He's just a big fat big mouth that can't keep his mouth shut.

First take trying to bring Kobe into this and magic not really disputing it hard, Magic dropping tons of name... maybe he’s forcing the buss family to sell

Not once has he held his hand up and said "I fecked up and made mistakes"... not even about the way he quit and the timing of it. Magic is all, "I have no regrets about anything"... "It's all about me and my happiness"... "I don't care because I did it my way", lol. This is a horribly one-sided finger-pointing exercise for the sake of his image/brand/ego if I ever saw one.

I think the only good thing he has said so far... is when he spoke about there being too many voices interfering in basketball operations and called out Tim Harris, some lady who is Pelinka's assistant, and others... but did he really need to go onto this show (or any show) to make that statement? Why didn't he say all this when he was POBO and working within the organization... and try to make the needed change then? Was it because he wasn't very involved then and so wouldn't have a leg to stand on if he chose to say this then?

Freaking Jeanie. That’s exactly the damn problem getting the business side involved with basketball decisions. Those guys need to stay in their lane and only have one damn voice talking to Jeanie

Harrison Faigen @hmfaigen

"If you're going to talk 'betrayal,' that's only with Rob... I didn't like that Tim Harris was too involved in basketball. He's supposed to run the Laker business, but he was trying to come over to our side. Jeanie's gotta stop that."

Jesus Christ...

This is why we don't hire our friends to run our billion dollar franchise.

I hope people can see what an ego maniac this guy is. He was a horrible President...lacks people skills and definitiley is unable to solve problems. That's why he flaked out.

I’m glad Magic is out of the PoBo role but I’m glad he called out Jeanie for what fans have been screaming. Too emotional to make the right decision, allowing Tim Harris and the Rambiis have a voice when they should have no decisions in basketball

I'm unhappy that he has chosen to do this interview and what he is saying... so although I think this is a regrettable decision, it doesn't necessarily mean he is 100% in the wrong and that there aren't things that need to be fixed in the organization.

I think he has brought up one really good point... i.e., when he spoke about there being too many voices interfering in basketball operations and called out Tim Harris, some lady who is Pelinka's assistant, and others for interfering with his work. But did he really need to go onto this show (or any show) to make that statement? Oh well... they're back from break, so listening again.

It's important to remember that Jeanie thinks this is all fine. That these are the best people to run the team. Things are this way because she wants them to be.

Wow, Magic. Perfect timing as usual. I would trade Bron for Zion just to spite Magic’s efforts. Some cold stuff, “GOAT”.

Oh well... one more good thing to come out of this interview... if there is anyone here who loves Magic and thinks he is infallible, he just said that Brandon Ingram is very special. So hopefully, we won't be seeing any Magic-lovers ask to trade Ingram for a bag of chips in the off-season... and if we do, we can refer them back to this interview.

As long as Kobe backs Pelinka, he is Teflon Rob.

Exactly. This is what happens in organizations with bad leadership. Magic didn't really have the power of a PBO yet he took all the criticism. He was smart to walk away. Jeannie was handed a multi-billion dollar franchise because of nepotism, not merit.

That's actually a bad thing since Magic's talent evaluation is so terrible the opposite has happened almost everytime he tweeted or opened his mouth.

Nice reference, lol. Rob should start using some of John Gotti's famous quotes. I can think of some applicable ones:

"Three-to-one odds I beat this."

"I'm the boss of this family."

"They'll be ready to frame me again in two weeks."

"They're overpriced, overpaid and … underperformed."

Uh oh. Well, he also said the Warriors are special. So hopefully, the curse of being labelled special by Magic strikes them soon after this interview too!

The truth is Magic wasn't showing up to work....Maybe Pelinka was calling him out....bad move...but what we've learned too is that Pelinka works 24/7...he's truly into making this team better....His dream job....This was never Magic's dream job.....He could care less, thats why he stepped down so easily.
Hopefully Pelinka's surprises us and pulls this off.

Being beholden to Kobe is just as bad as Magic. No ex player should have any real influence on these things unless they are vetted pro like West, who is actually the goat GM. Just like USC football is being held back because they just can't finally cut ties to the Pete Carroll era. Alabama football was like that for decades with Bear Byrant, and when they finally went with an "outsider" they got Saban. I'm not saying its that easy but virtually any elite GM should be drooling long term with the Lakers as its the only real team that draws free agents (when not a tire fire) and has stars forcing trades to you.

I agree, but in Jeanie’s mind whatever Kobe says = she will do.

Too bad she doesn’t think of Jerry West that way.

(bleep) Magic. Anyone that tries to stand up for him after this needs to re evaluate their own selves. Is he trying to ensure no free agent signs with us this summer? its bad enough that this selfish prick quit like he did before one of the most important summers of our franchise, but to go and totally outdo himself like this? This really speaks on his persona and character. go (bleep) yourself magic.
