I highly recommend Barry if you haven't seen it already. HBO, 2 seasons in. It's damn good. Outside of that, of the newest shows yeah What We Do in the Shadows is the only standout that I recollect.

It is that. Irony; Hoon Lee is in Warriors. He was one of my favorites in Banshee.
I posted in the thread White Actors Suing ‘Hamilton’ for Racial Discrimination I'm not versed on Asian culture so I don't know if the plot is one Asians would be in line with. If any here have seen the series please chime in and opinion. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Job, an all time great character
As much as I liked his Job character, I like the Chao character he's playing even more.
Just finished the season finale. Ah Sahm's had some great fight scenes but the fight in the factory might have been the best because he was fighting for someone besides himself. I knew they were building towards a showdown with Leery but they comic booked it by having them fight to a draw. That's okay as there's still a lot of story to tell before we get a big showdown.
I really enjoy this show. So many great characters in addition to the action. I can't wait for season 2. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

I enjoy that everybody speaks english (and we know when they're actually speaking chinese), easier to follow

I was surprised by the winner. Sister nodded, break his neck, Officer Bill saved him.
Pitting brother against sister is interesting. One loves the other, one is all about power.
Cinemax wasted no time renewing for season 2. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

You're talking about his duel against Li Yong in ep. 9 and he clearly lost that one. I was referring to his fight with Dylan Leery, the Irish labor leader, in the season finale. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

I did have it mixed. Thanks for the clarification. I also like Chao. Lee went from gay to gangsta and teed both. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Those that have seen both Deadwood the series and the movie, do you recommend re-watching the series? I vaguely remember the series but I do remember the characters etc... _________________ KOBE

Hell yes. I'm almost upset you would ask that. It's that great. Cast is incredible, better than GoT casting. Like the guy who played Tywin level for each character/actor combo for major, minor, or guest actor. Vaguely remember the series? I don't know how you could forget this series. Great writing and actors delivering for all the characters, main characters, guest characters, role player characters, and the story for most of it was great. Even the side characters you despise are scene-chewy. Fizzled in a time crunch before cancellation at the end plot-wise when they crunched the denouement. I could go on, but I will save my excessive blather for when the movie comes out. Go savor the early episodes like one can savor early GoT episodes before the weakness set in. Warning - not a big action series, more a dialogue/character richness slow build to great payoffs series.

No, no, I've already seen it during the original airing . By vaguely I mean I only remember bits and pieces.
In any event, I'll rewatch it again I think. It'll feel like new at this point. I enjoyed re-watching the Sopranos as much as I did the first time around (15 years later). _________________ KOBE

I have not seen it mentioned, but does anyone watch Bad Blood on Netflix with Kim Coates from SOA? I enjoy it. It is clearly Canadian, and I am not sure what I mean by that, but there is something about Canadian shows that is always easy to identify. At least it actually claims to be taking place in Canada....many Canadian TV shows take place in a generic city (usually Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, etc.) but never identify them or rarely mention the city because they hope to get American distribution (Rookie Blue, Motive, etc.).
Originally based on the mafia in Montreal led by Vito Rizzuto. The second season moves on from the Rizzuto family. Season 1 was better than Season 2....Season 3 should be out later in the year.

Ok then, I retract my unhinged rant.
I didn't see it as it aired since I didn't have access to HBO in my youth, but felt like unearthed treasure (like I felt about Firefly) when I did see it.
Sopranos the same thing.

Anyone start Netflix's "When They See Us" yet? It's about the central park 5. Really gripping stuff; truly sad and infuriating.
I started. I was really angered. I quit watching. I'll resume today. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Jordan Klepper's new show "Klepper" is really good. It's in the same vein as W. Kamau Bell's United Shades of America in format and just as good.
I think it's about 6 episodes so far and the most recent I watched covered the Constitutional Carry folk down in Texas by contrasting two very different groups of "Open Carry" activists - one white and one black - and the differences between their advocacy and the reactions to them. It's a very interesting watch. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
