Worst record in the league since Jeanie took over, even after signing a top 3-5 player in Lebron. It's a long way to up and it seems we take one step forward and two steps back. I wouldn't say we are finished, even though we have been pathetic for over half a decade the fans still shell out their money. So the Buss' will continue to make money and the fans will be thrilled with making the playoffs. I haven't spent a penny on them since Dr. Buss passed and don't see myself doing so anytime soon.

yes she is def a rag to riches story.
Lakers merchandise must be the most difficult to sell in the market. Especially during the kobe era.
I can see it now. All the challenges she must have faced turning the most
famous and successful franchise in sports history into a money maker.
And if you can sell jerseys...you should pick the GM, Coach and even the
draft picks. |

So tell us what she has done to make the Lakers a successful brand. Every situation Dr. Buss put her in failed. Tennis team? Folded. Roller hockey team? Failed. Dr. Buss built the Laker brand and was responsible for it's most profitable contract, TWC. But if you know differently please let us know.

The worst part is all that tanking left us with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma.
2 average players who are fragile af and a solid overachieving 27th pick. Wonderful. And here I was hoping for an Embiid. That dream is dead. |

I agree with 2, 3 and 4, but we have some good young talent, we will have a good draft pick and it looks like we're going to hire a good young coach in Ty Lue who has won a world championship.
Yes, we have issues, but they can be fixed in the next few months. If someone like Irving joins us this summer the narrative can quickly change.

Just curious what caused all this negative sadness today? Hopefully not because of the Lakers not signing Monty because that would be crazy. Lue is a more proven coach.
I am going to let this play out. Not going to be on the doom and gloom on Lakers train just yet. If they fail hard, the pressure will be on the Buss family to sell. Season ticket holders will demand a quality product so I am not worried.

I understand that this feels like a low point. However, take a deep breath and forget all of the social media/hot take journalism stuff. No one really knows what any of the free agents are going to do. This includes the free agents themselves. Sometime in late June, about six or seven weeks from now, the pieces will start to fall into place. By then, we should have a new coach and possibly some new faces in the front office. By the mid- to late-July, we will know whether Magic's grand scheme worked and whether the front office has managed to assemble a functional roster around Lebron and Max FA #2.
Until then, don't jump off the bridge. No matter how dark things may look, this could all still work out. |

I agree. I'm no fan of Jeannie, I'm very pessimistic these days, but I know a lot can change in the next 2 months. I've been a Laker fan waaay to long to bail on this team. The good times may not last forever, but neither do the bad times. |

All we can cite now are the old glory days. The lakers have been run into the
ground and are no longer any different from any other team.
You guys remember the time that news reports were coming out that the
Jim was firing FO guys who had been there for 20-30 years?
one trust fund kid destroyed the FO the other one is our here tryin to
finish the job.
Do you support these ppl who trade dlo and let randle go. They threw zubac
and host of other players who transformed themselves in lakers uni and
played their heart out only to get dumped for cash.
When I see that clippers bald guy owner jump up and down and build a real team and then
I see jennie act like she knows what she is doing I know there is no going
back.
