Didn't we give two of the most horrendous contracts ever under Mitch, and Jim's watch?

I disagree that things weren't as low.

We have a team that can compete for a title, with a key free agent acquisition, and additional pieces. Which is a far cry from where we were with Jim.

I suppose, but on the other hand, I understood, and agreed with, the strategy. Find vets who can fill some cap space, contribute just enough without getting in the way of player development.

The execution ended up being poor, but at the time, a lot of people were happy about Deng in particular.

Sorry but there is no positive spin one could put on that situation. We are better off now than we were with them at the helm, there is no disputing that.

This is such a stupid thread. Jim doesnt deserve an apology, he was TERRIBLE. Jeanie is also horrendous. Both are true. Jerry Buss unfortunately left the team in the wrong hands.

And I still will give credit to Magic for getting LBJ, just as much as I credit him with the utter failure of this season after getting LBJ too.

I’ll grant you that man. No idea how you saw through it and you caught a lot of flack for it but you were right.

Ditto V ! I don't think I have commented, but yeah, seems you have been right
all along man. I tip my hat.

LBJ came here because he wanted to be in Los Angeles.

If Magic helped, it would be mostly because Klutch saw a mark who wouldn't stand in their way.

I'm sorry, but that's how I see it.

It is true that Tommen was almost as terrible as Joffrey... just in very different ways.

Yes, Mitch made some terrible free agency decisions, and there are some other modern front office operations things he was falling behind on. So I understand why we moved on from him. But Mitch did a lot of things well. He ran a pretty tight ship and was well-respected around the league.

Mitch had no problem finding another position

Still Lakers were pretty much a tight ship with not much controversy other than Jennie stirring it up. Now it’s full blown chaos from Magic quitting and this stupid Coach hiring process.

Yes, Lebron came under Magic’s watch.

Honestly, I'd argue that Jim was doing a good job. Look at the players he and Kupchak drafted/brought in:

- D'Angelo (Avg 21 ppg,7 asts ;Allstar)
- Randle (Avg 21 ppg, 8 rebs)
- Ingram (18 ppg, 5rebs)
- Lou Williams (20 ppg, 5 asts)
- Jordan Clarkson (16 ppg)

There were some horrible moves, namely Mozgov and Deng, but the young talent that was here was good and has proven to be better than what Magic/Pelinka has brought in.

Exactly. Respect means something. Maybe he needed a little more help, but he's no dummy.

Jim was bad. Jeanie is terrible.

Both need rid be gone. We're half way there.

Mitch and Jim- bad enough that we ended up with lotto picks and struck out
Magic- Gives away lotto picks but get LeBron + terrible small moves (win now)
The Rambii- Turn down a coach so LeBron won't have power/want to trade him

We are a mess

Absolutely correct. We need the NBA to step in like they did for the Clippers. Isn't there a tape of Jeanie saying racist remarks somewhere? or sexually harassing ball boys?

The problem for me is that she has been the constant steward over both.

While she wants to accountability for decisions, she does enough to undermine/limit each group.

As bad as Magic was, at least he wanted to fire Luke and Rob. Who knows what his next move would have been but Jeanie put her foot down about Rob due to her attachment to Kobe.

For sure. I hated the way she handled things with Jim and Mitch.
Even if the team needed a change, that's not how you do things.

And now everything is even worse. She's completely lost.

I formally give the middle finger to both Jimbo and Bimbo for humiliating its' fan base, and for ruining this once proud franchise. Jerry's biggest failure as an owner was bequeathing the management of the Lakers to his unqualified spawn.

So what are you giving to Jeanie then since she's been the head steward over both?
