I hope that Kawhi leaves Toronto, and if he does Toronto would be open to doing a sign and trade than lose him for nothing. Assuming that's all possible. _________________ Tacos |

The Last thing the Lakers need is a PG who averages 10ppg and 31% from the 3-pt line playing SG...

That might be true if our only objective is to sign a big name FA. If the objective is to try and compete, we can be choosers. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

You're completely wrong | Right. Zo would be the PG and Kyrie would be the scoring 2 guard essentially. Zo would cover the opposing 2 though. He has the size and with another off season of strength conditioning, he'll have the strength too. |

I’m not sure that Toronto would do that. At worst they get rid of Derozan’s salary and if they can offload Lowry, they are ready for a rebuild. They wouldn’t have to decide whether or not to extend Ingram. Plus, how are we going to come up with $26.5 mil in salaries? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Not that much if we keep our lottery pick and keep Bullock's cap hold. We did have that pre lottery day/Bullock trade. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Who is playing defense from the guard position? If you get Kyrie you probably want a low usage defender like Lonzo who can also rebound/pass.
Think of Kyrie as the "SG" on offense. |

LOL,
Wrong that Zo has averaged 10ppg over two seasons?
Wrong that he has missed 65 out of 182 games in his two seasons?
Wrong that his career 3pt % is 31.5%
Wrong that he shoots 43% from the FT line?
Wrong that is APG went down 1.8 per game since LeBron came here?
Wrong that the Lakers need COMPETENT 3pt shooters on the floor with LeBron, ones that do NOT miss 68.5% of the time?
Being happy with Zo and his play equates to being happy with mediocrity and perhaps you are and I am fine with that, if settling for less makes you happy, then by all means ENJOY Zo all you want!
For me I have higher expectations and they are driven by actual facts and stats and if you looked at it that way, in reality instead of fantasy you would understand why you are wrong...!
Now maybe and hopefully Kidd can help him, but if not, the Lakers are making a huge mistake keeping him past next season when his contract calls for $11mil & $14mil, which is kinda high for a 10ppg guy, isn't it? _________________ “Always remember... Dang, some of the posters in here lol why Kyrie? Why Kyrie? Cuz zo is trash. All you fall in love with these guys we draft. Thinking if we just keep waiting they will blossom into something great. Zo can’t shoot and last time I checked you win by putting the ball in the basket. Kyrie is so much better then zo it’s not even funny as others have posted the numbers. Bron compliments zo I’m hoping someone will trade for him. Please laker fans just stop. If we miss on a guy we miss on him. Better to trade him to early then to hold on and get nothing. Be real, a pg shooting under 50% at the foul line is useless. I don’t care if he is a top 10 defender in the league, which zo isn’t even that yet, you can’t have it. Ask any gm in the game if you want zo or Kyrie, I think every single one says Kyrie. So for the original poster to ask why Kyrie, cuz we want to win. |

I agree that Lonzo is a mess offensively.
He needs to improve in all of those areas: FG%, 3P%, FT% and aggressiveness.
He's very solid defensely however and you need players that can play hard defense especially if you've got some weak points defensively. His rebounding and assist rates are still quite good even with Lebron James hoarding those stats.
Unless Lonzo is traded as part of a package for a star, I don't see any reason to trade him. He still has a lot of upside. And his overall trade value is depressed so you won't get value for him.
Better to roll the dice and trust you can develop him. If you don't believe you can develop him, you should fire yourself and find someone that can. |

I know Stephen A Smith has sources but maybe this a situation were Kyrie’s close peers are hoping he joins NY, it doesn’t mean he will. |
