Man, big coaching brains to play THT in that spot. It is nice that he isn't conventional like a lot of coaches. Byron Scott for sure wouldn't do that. Luke might have been open to that, but the defense has looked really good under Vogel.
They look like an elite defense out there. They are run ragged by the Houston passing, and they still recover and cover for each other. Its really amazing to see.

That was a Phil like move, and ton of risks. Imagine what LG would say if THT sucked?
Another quick adjustment he made today was when we started losing the lead he realized the reason for that was that they're full court pressing and he quickly subbed in Caruso to bring three ball handlers at the same time in the last three minutes: LeBron, Rondo, Caruso to help with the full court press.

The strength of this team is just that. They can start Lebron at PG, but then when the game gets going, they can shift the ballhandling to Rondo, Caruso, AD (even he brings the ball up at times) etc. and it allows Lebron to get more aggressive in looking for his shot. This is a similar blue print to many successful championship teams. Not saying it will work out the same way, but it is nice to see we do this and we worked on this during the RS. Glad to see a playoffs where the RS efforts are paying off.
Extend this man. Lest not forget that we extended an offer to Tyronn Lue first and he turned it down in order for the Vogel hire to happen so we should count our blessings there. I mean I like Lue but I'd rather have Vogel over Lue. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

I would be happy if we signed him to a ten year contract He's been just the coach we've wanted all year

10 years sound fine. Better to do it now otherwise the price might go up if he won this year's championship. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!
He's an unbelievable coach. The Lakers need to lock him up as soon as possible. _________________ โChrist did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

100% Lakers fans would have called for Lueโs head already. Not because he would have done anything wrong, but the moment we fall behind in a game and he has that look on his face, some would pounce immediately. _________________ โYou have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.โ - Kobe Bryant

After game 1 against Portland, I did not like Vogel. I questioned all the line-ups he was "wasting" time with during the seeding games. Which caused them to be out of whack for game 1 against Portland. I asked what is the point in playing THT when you won't be playing him when it matters?
He's the first Laker coach to screw seniority and play a kid ahead of a bunch of vets. I'm just blown away that THT has been getting time. I remember I thought Javaris Crittenton had so much game. Imagine during Kobe's title run, Javaris gets crucial minutes in playoff games. LOL! It just doesn't happen. Vogel got some guts!
Vogel really impressed me early in the season and he's done nothing to lose my confidence. This feels sort of like when the Mavs hired Carlisle. He revamped the defense and the culture. I'd like to see Vogel as our long term coach. He's the first coach since Phil that I know for sure has a higher bball iq than me Like I can just sit back and trust the decisions he's making without getting worked up. That's a good feeling.
