Well since 2014-15, when Ballmer first became their owner, the Clippers have won 114 more games than we have, an average of 22.8 more wins per season, and have only missed the playoffs once during that span while we have not been there since 2012-13. So there’s that. |
I can't wait until they unveil the "114 More Wins Than The Lakers Since 14-15" banner next season on opening night. That'll finally put these franchises on equal footing. |

as opposed to our banners which have arms and legs and can win games and take us to the playoffs. |

Historically speaking, they're obviously not on "equal footing". And right now, they're not on "equal footing" either. Question was asked and answered.
Jeanie Buss is the main problem here. While she and her BFF and Rob (who's GM because of his ties to Kobe) and Magic (who took his ball and went home) are grinding this great franchise into dust, Ballmer, West and Rivers are over there at Clippers HQ winning games and trying to build a contender.
Of course, West should never have wound up over there in the first place, but Jeanie wasn't willing/able to fix it when (as some of the writers who have covered the team for years said) he was sitting there hoping and waiting for the call.
Ballmer is a very accomplished, aggressive business person who is serious about what he's trying to do and has surrounded himself with solid basketball people to help him get there. Just like Dr. Buss did once upon a time. Meanwhile, Jeanie is in hiding while LeBron and Rich Paul run our organization. Quite comforting.
Again, Steve Ballmer is kicking our ass. Like, right now. I love the Lakers and we have a great history. But that was then and this is now. The Clips are a well run organization right now, and we are a clown car right now.
I live in hope that things will change. Soon. |
