TEMECULA (CBSLA) – A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after a multi-vehicle crash on the I-15 in Temecula Tuesday morning that left one driver dead and others injured.
The collision occurred just before 7:30 a.m. on the Southbound I-15 Freeway near Temecula.
A video showed the moment a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck flew down the freeway, crashing into the back of a Nissan Altima, killing the female driver inside.
There's literally nothing the lady could've done to escape her fate. So sad. Guy deserves the worst possible punishment.
omg. holy (bleep). that made my eyes swell up. That was so heartbreaking to see. That woman didn't deserve that. Only 44 years old. and the driver walks away without a scratch? and he may only see 4-8 years in prison? what the (bleep). this made me so upset. RIP Janet Genao
Authorities in Washington confirmed that Caldera had led them on a police chase last November.
I wonder if this a-hole passed out or was just looking to commit suicide. He didn't even slow down. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

That truck was flying low. @LakersChamps04 Why do you think he may only see 4-8 years in prison? He was arrested for murder. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Why do drunk, drugged up, incapacitated drivers, usually end up unscathed and innocent victims die or injured for life? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Supposedly it’s because they’re drunk their bodies are relaxed and don’t tense up so they go with the flow of an impact when a collision occurs, while sober people react to the accident by freaking out and tensing up which apparently makes a person more vulnerable to getting hurt/killed. Our bodies are weird.

This is speculation on my part, but I have always assumed there is also some physics involved based on car design. The DUI driver's vehicle is the one that is running front first into the other vehicle, often tee-boning or at an acute angle. The front of a vehicle is typically designed to take more force than the sides of a vehicle. And the sides of a vehicle are more vulnerable because they have to allow room for doors and window space and thus have less reinforcement than the front and rear. Thus the DUI drivers vehicle is able to protect the occupant more than the vehicle that is struck.
If you look at the truck in this crash, there is certainly a great deal of front end damage, bur once you get to the cabin area, its still pretty much intact. The victim's the vehicle was shredded open like a can of sardines, partially do to the fact that the truck's higher profile caused it run up and over the rear portion of the victims vehicle, but also because that structure of the victims vehicle is far less capable of protecting against catastrophic damage than the front a of vehicle. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

You ever see in the movies when they pour tequila in someone's entry wound? Alcohol, not vaccines, is the elixir of life.

In this case according to the CBS report it wasn't alcohol but the driver was smoking the ganja. Sorry to spoil the narrative.
Do you have a link for that?....NVM _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

You know the whole alcohol given to the Indians riff. You were a part of it. So maybe I should have said sorry to spoil the riff. Members of this board regularly sound off on the benefits of weed over alcohol. Each has their own benefits and drawbacks. Up to the user to exercise discretion and pay for their own poor choices.

Every day, 29 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This is one death every 50 minutes. The annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $44 billion.
A high person could make that mistake (just like sober people do too). But I don't think deaths caused by marijuana use are anywhere close to deaths caused by alcohol. Especially if we're talking about deaths involving vehicles. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
