Assuming the AD trade is on July 6 and we don’t have space this year, can we sign a max guy next year along with re-upping AD?

The short answer is NO, because we're likely going to commit to some salary beyond 2020 after we fill out our roster this summer. It's unlikely we're gonna be able to get EVERYONE on 1 year deals. But in any case... AD's salary is about to take a jump as well.

In the summer of 2020, if we only had LBJ, AD, Kuz, our total salary committments would be 39.2m + 31.1m (There's no way AD is not taking the 4m trade kicker, his salary will be 31.1m in 2020, and there's no way he's not re-upping for a bigger deal anyway, so this 31.1m gonna be a lot bigger) + 3.5m for KUZ and 5m for Deng's stretched penis. That's a total of 78.8m. The cap is 116m in 2020 so that's available 37.1m, but again... AD is gonna re-up and we'll have other commitments signed this summer. I believe there's also a cap-hold for not having enough players on the roster which would restrict our ability to use up all the theoretical cap space.

This is our year to fill out our roster for multiple championship runs, that's it.
